I am looking for a portable dishwasher that is convertible; that is to say can be converted to plumbed in at some time in the future. You offered one

You offered one on your site a few days ago but I cannot find it now.
Asked by: Arc
Hello Arc, I am happy to help. Thank you for choosing the GE Convertible Portable Dishwasher model # GLC5604VWW. Yes, a Conversion Kit is needed and the part number is # WD35X10351. The kit contains a water valve, hardware (brackets, screws, bolts, etc.) and instructions for adapting a GE convertible dishwasher to under-the-counter installation. Conversion does involve some disassembly. The sides, top and rollers must be removed, water valve changed and springs re-located. For the conversion kit, contact GE Parts at 1-877-959-8688 Mon–Fri 8am–7pm, Sat 8:30am–5pm ET. Thank you for checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

Does this machine get to a temperature over 160 deg. F. in either the wash or dry cycle?

Asked by: Spiff
Hello Spiff, This is Joyce from GE Appliances. I will be happy to help! The Saniwash cycle reaches up to 155 degrees Fahrenheit in the final rinse and holds it there long enough to meet and exceed the NSF requirements to sanitize. We recommend that you have your water heater set to 120 degrees if you have small children in your home or 140 degrees if you don't. It is always best to turn your hot water on at your kitchen sink first to allow the initial fill to be hot. I hope this helps!

Can the side panels remain on when using the conversion kit?

We want to install as a built-in using the conversion kit but both sides will show after the install. It's going under an open countertop. Can the side panels remain on & just the rollers be removed?
Asked by: gaw02
Hello, This is Joyce from GE. The conversion kit is designed for a built in installation. The side panels should not remain. If it isn't a true built in installation, we can't recommend it. The conversion does involve a lot of disassembly. The sides, top and rollers must be removed, water valve changed and springs re-located. If you have any additional questions, please contact The GE Answer Center at 1-800-626-2000. Thanks so much for checking with us. Have a good day!

Portable Dishwasher in White with 16 Place Setting Capacity is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Skeptical at first, enthused after 9 months! Having moved around, I've used a lot of different dishwashers. We had one other portable that wasn't very good so I was skeptical of purchasing a portable again. After using it for 9 months I have to say this machine does an amazing job and is very water efficient. My ONLY advice is that using any detergent but Cascade (the green package) results in much less satisfactory cleaning. Stick with the Cascade and the dishes are sparkling, even with our rock-hard water. I don't own Cascade stock but have wasted money on other detergents only to find perfect results using the green version (liquid or powder). I thank my husband weekly for buying me this dishwasher!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from never going to handwash again I've had this unit for over 6 months now and it works great. It at times can be hard to move around when it's full of heavy dishes, but other then that it's an amazing unit!! The steam cycle works great on really dirty dishes or on glasses that spot really easy. I have found that using the Cascade ActionPacs with the Dawn works the best in the unit, others don't work as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm very happy with my dishwasher I bought this dishwasher over a month ago, and I'm extremely happy with it. I use it every other day. We had to wait to use it because the adapter for the faucet which came with the dishwasher wasn't long enough. So, we had to buy an adapter at the hardware store. Considering how much I ultimately paid for the machine, it seemed to me that it should've come with an appropriate adapter. In any case, that was a small inconvenience. Once we had the right adapter, it was too easy to connect the dishwasher to the faucet. I only use the standard functions, i.e. normal wash. I don't use the heat dry. I open the door and then let is sit till the next morning when everything is dry. The machine is VERY quiet. It's much quieter than standard dishwashers I've had. I hardly notice it's on. The only complaint I have is that the sides of the dishwasher are white. But, all in all, I'd highly recommend this machine to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GE Portable Dishwasher The dishwasher does what it's supposed do...wash dishes. You do need to rinse out baked on food like lasagna pans but regular dishes with tomato sauce etc cleans just fine. Don't over crowd but that is the case with any dishwasher. I would have preferred the dishwasher to be black on all 4 sides instead of just the front but it is what it is. The buttons on the machine are intuitive which helps if you don't read the directions. If you can't do a built in dishwasher then this is the way to go. I had thought about the 18" wide machine but opted for the larger capacity in the 24"

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Dishwasher I have had this dishwasher for 2 weeks. It's a nice dishwasher. In 1 other review they said the sides were white, nobody else commented on that and it is not in the discription anywhere, but yes the sides are white. Don't know why they would make it like that but that's the only thing i would change on it. Cleans the dishes well, it's quiet, easy to hook-up. Also in the hook-up instuctions it says that you can not have a sprayer on your sink and use the portable dishwasher, I did not unhook my spayer and everything works well together, no problems.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good washer, after 3 service visits I'm pleased with the machine, and it seems to perform well, but I wasn't happy that the hose was stuck AND leaking when I got it. Three service visits and two weeks later, it now works. Good product, good customer service, horrible quality assurance testing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a cleaning beast! I love this machine! I was a little worried at first that it does'nt have a pots and pan button, but I used a glass bread pan that I like making lasana in, I over filled it and it went over and got burned on stuff to the bottem of the pan (luckly i had it on top of a cookie sheet with foil). I just rinsed it enough to get off any pieces of noodles off and just threw it in the top rack and used the cascade complete packs that the manual recommended, normal wash cyle with added heat and steam and it came out spotless even the bottem of the pan! All my dishes and glasses also come out cleaner and more shiney then my old machine and the water does'nt seem to splash out of the sink when draining which was a little problem with my old machine. I can fit my 2 15-11 inch cookie sheets in the bottem rack and there still is like an inch or so from the middle spray arm. It's pretty quite too! I love this machine so far! I've only had it for a week and I run it 1-2 times a day. The only thing I don't like is the door latch on the roof of the inside of the machine is metal with a plastic tip looks like it will be the first thing to break. Also I think it needs another light to tell you its drying because of the pauses between cycle, also if you have a nice set of flatware drying heat or not you want ot pull that out of the dishwasher as soon as its done to prevent long term damage, once agian a light will make this more helpful.
