I am interested in the GE Profile 30" electric smooth touch pad cooktop. The cutout in my granite is width 29 5/8"and 20 3/4". Concern is I am trying to replace a broken cooktop and I cannot find a cooktop that fits the whole that I like. The cutout fit trim kit JXtr32b looks like it could possible be a remedy to the problem; however will it give the cooktop enough support to use without breaking it again?

Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. We are glad that you have an interest in the GE Profile 30 in. Glass Ceramic Electric Cooktop. However, the cooktop trim kit would need to be screwed into the cooktop in order to give it proper support. You would not be able to screw the trim kit into your granite countertop. I apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for checking with us!

Profile 30 in. Glass Ceramic Electric Cooktop in Black with 4 Elements including Tri-Ring Element is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 170.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my first electric cooktop and it's GREAT The main reason I chose this cooktop is the appearance on my counters. I have really enjoyed cooking on it. It's heats very fast and clean-up is easy. Also, I try to buy products made in the U.S. as much as possible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Happy We upgraded all of our appliances this year and used to have the GE Profile/white cooktop that had the knobs on the right. It was only 5 years old and I liked the fact that it had a bridge on the two left burners. I thought that I would miss that w/ this new unit but am very satisfied with the Large 12", 9", 6, burner on the front right. It does the job. I am still getting used to how hot this model cooks. It is hot like gas which I am not used to but am adapting fast. The best part is no knobs. Yey! The back left 9" 6" boil fast burner is also a very nice feature. Quick tip: When istalling make sure that your setting foam tape is as close to the under edge as possible, keeping in mind you don't want it to squish out when the weight of the cooktop is applied. If it is right at the edge it will not allow food/crumbs to get under the edge. Enjoy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Short life We had this product less than three years and it died. It just stopped working one day and we discovered that the motherboard was ruined. Unfortunately it had been epoxyed to the bottom of the cooktop, thus rendering the whole appliance useless. I do expect an expensive appliance to last longer than three years. I would definitely not recommend this product. Look elsewhere. We did try and get some satisfaction from GE but they would not return our phone calls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product After having looked at quite a few different cooktops we decided on this one. It's sleak design goes very well with our coutertops. It's easy to use and very easy to clean. Cooking on it is very fast and convenient. Heating areas heat to the desired temp in no time. Great product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic It has a very eligant look, easy to clean and the variable elements are extremely useful. Anyone concerned with the "scratches" as written in other reviews should realize that you are going to get this in any glass top cooktop if you do not take care of it properly. A sample of cleaner and sponge is included in the box and you simply need to follow the directions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great easy-to-clean cooktop This cooktop looks great and is very easy to clean with no manual knobs to get in the way of your cleaning. The electronic burner controls are easy to use, with precise numeric settings. We replaced an 18 year old GE cooktop and it fit into the existing space perfectly. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Power Boil feature on PP945 cooktop We just replaced a 30-year old cooktop with this one. We've only had it installed for a few days, and it seems to be working great except that we cannot figure out how to use the "power boil" to quickly boil a tea kettle of water. Most important and disappointing, THE USER'S MANUAL FOR THIS COOKTOP DOES NOT HAVE ONE WORD ABOUT THE POWER BOIL FEATURE!!! But since the dual surface element has the words "Power Boil" written outside the outer ring, we assumed that the High setting on both of those elements would "power" boil. In practice, however, it seems to work only with the outer element, which means that it could not be used with any standard sized tea kettle. So I guess it will be great for boiling spaghetti or something else in a very large pot, but not for everyday quick boiling. As an aside, GE's website shows in the product overview for this cooktop, that the dual elements are 5" and 8", but in fact they are 6" and 9". Since I have one small pan that I frequently use, that was one of the selling points for me; so I am disappointed by that misrepresentation. I am writing this review in hopes that GE's documentation staff will be made aware of the fact that a selling-point feature is NEVER explained or even mentioned in the User Manual. I'm hoping that the cooktop will otherwise be a good purchase, and that it will serve as well as my old one did. It is very pretty. :)
