Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Cooktop
This cooktop is very sleek. It really cooks fast so be careful when cooking because you may need to lower the temp. Be sure you use the correct pans on this cook top because it will pit if you don't.
All that said, I'd recommend this cooktop because of its great cooking quality, the melt feature and its design.

I bought this cooktop about a month ago. It was very simple and easy to install and hook up. It heats very well. I'm not crazy about it being solid, shiny black. Every smudge shows! I'd have preferred a mottled finish. The instructions tell you that the red light will stay on until the cooktop cools down to about 150 degrees then it will go off. I think the red light should stay on a lot longer. At 150 degrees, the cooktop is still WAY too hot to accidently touch it or set something on it. But, I'm getting used to it. I do like it better than my old coil stove, but it's not as easy to clean as I had hoped. You really have to scrub (with approved sponge and cleaner) to get the marks off.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Maridis GE Profile Cooktop
After almost four years of using a GE Profile Cooktop I am still pleased and satisfied with its performance. I like the ease of regulating the heat, the multiple heat rings for different-size pots, and relatively easy clean up. It's a product I would recommend to a life-time friend.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0Â by Alsdad Looks good, but...
Bought this to replace an old 30" cooktop that died. While the features sounded good in the store- powerboil, an element that can be used as 9" or 12", etc. I never really looked at the burner arrangement while thinking how cooking is actually done. For example, the only use I have for a 12" element is making stew or pasta sauce, and in neither case do I need or want that element in front. Those don't need constant attention, and the front location makes some of the other elements inaccessible. Also, the small elements don't seem to heat as quickly as the previous cooktop. Plus, the indicator lights are wired wrong- the light for the right front element lights up when the right rear element is hot, and vice versa.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0Â by MiamiCondoOwner2013 The biggest mistake I made in my new kitchen
I was re-doing (from start) a very small kitchen and I thought I could get by with this and a combined MW/convection oven. The cooktop is the thing I use most, and ye gods! The upkeep is ridiculous. Who has time to slather cleaner on a cooktop 3 times a day, scrub it off, rinse and repeat?
That's what it takes to keep this cooktop looking clean. I've tried the product the manufacturer recommended and I've tried wipes from the supermarket.
It takes a ridiculous amount of effort to keep this cooktop clean and I am not a scrub-the-cooktop thrice-a-day kind of person. Don't buy this. The last day you see it looking sleek (like the picture here) is going to be the first time you use it. It stains easily and often and generally looks like a mess unless you have 15 minutes and tons of paper towels to clean it after every use.
It's also a permanent mistake. It's inset in my granite countertop and I don't think I can fix it without gutting the kitchen.
