Product Overview

Siloxa-Tek 8505 is the most innovative product ever formulated. A proprietary blend of silane/siloxanes and a proprietary stain repellent additive, this clear penetrating sealer not only prevents staining, oil penetration, deicing salt and freeze-thaw damage, but its hydrophobic nature resists moisture intrusion and vapor transmission. This is the go to choice to seal any concrete, brick, or masonry based substrate especially driveways, garages and patios.

What would be the issue of applying it to 7 day old Concrete ?
Asked by: keith93611
We recommend applying our sealers once concrete has been cured for at least 28 days. This helps ensure the concrete is fully cured and no longer has any moisture from being poured. Applying a sealer sooner may result in reduced performance or adhesion. If you have any questions about your application, please call us at (855) 573-8383.

1 gal. Invisible Penetrating Concrete and Masonry Water Repellent Sealer Plus Oil Repellent is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems to work very well Used this sealer for my driveway and garage apron. Coverage was as expected, I applied 2 coats. Went on easy, repels water and stains as advertised. Works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works exactly like I needed it to I applied this just recently to a concrete sidewalk that was poured about 4 months ago. Application was a breeze, though it didn't go as far as I thought it would. I may have applied it a little heavy. A day later I was able to see the water bead off the concrete. This will be great in the winter! Will be buying 3 more bottles to do our front porch and another coat on the sidewalk. I specifically bought this one because I wanted the oil repellent on the concrete apron at the end of our driveway. If you don't need the oil repellant, then just go with the 8500.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for. This stuff has been great! It has excellent coverage, repels oil and water, and dries completely transparent. I originally put down the 9500 ghost shield without realizing that it was not designed to repel oil. Cutomer service has been outstanding! They have been very helpful getting me this product and advising me on how to get the old product off, so that it could be applied. I applied this on my 1 year old driveway and garage. I couldn't be happier with the 8505 or the level of service and support I've received from Ghost Shield! I would purchase again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not guaranteed for 100 years Does not repel water. It did change the color of the concrete. I had to put an additional 2 coats of 8500 over the 2 coats of 8505. Now my driveway looks goofy because of the color change. When you read the fine print you have to reapply every 10 years. So not guaranteed for 100 years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy application Used this in my garage. It was really easy to apply. I sprayed it on and brushed it with a push broom to evenly spread it across the floor. Within 6 hours it was dry. I applied this 3 weeks ago and have walked across it with wet shoes. From what I can tell it repel's water. I rated it with 4 starts only because I haven't tested its durability with heavy traffic yet.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Oil Repllent Limitations This is after many emails back and forth with Ghostshield... Their 8505 contains an oil repellant, whereas 8500 does not, which is the only difference between them. If it seems like purchasing the 8505 is the better deal, think again and use caution. (1) The 8505 is oil "resistant" meaning it will still stain if you don't clean the area right away which is rather inconvenient to do in a garage, especially if you lay garage tiles over top the finished product. (2) You cannot apply ANY other spray, brush or roll on coatings over top the 8505 because they will not properly adhere to the surface due to the additives that make it oil repellent. Might be fine for a new concrete slab, or an older one that still looks good and you plan to acid etch and/or grind it before hand. But if you're not sure you will like the look of a clear finish beforehand, you might want to think about using the 8500 instead for its other excellent properties, then go over it with another non-clear coating for the look you want.
