Customer Questions & Answers

does it have legs or does it rest on the floor?

Asked by: dave
Screw in stationary casters come with the unit; they are hard plastic on the bottom. You can order wheeled casters. But the cabinet does rest flush upon the floor.

Can you store golf bags on the bottom by leaving a shelf out?

I want to leave enough room on the bottom for three golf bags and clubs. Can the shelving be modified to accommodate this? Thanks.
Asked by: Kevin
Possible, but I would not recommend it as the shelves attached to the side of the unit with set screws and they add stability to the unit. Structure of unit uses relatively thin gage steel and it does bend easily. Just my opinion.

Ready to Assemble 72 in. H x 48 in. W x 18 in. D Steel Freestanding Garage Cabinet in Silver Tread is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 242.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great look easy installation Purchased two units. Consolidated all garage items into both units. My garage looks like a professional upgrade. The look of the two units have a clean industrial look. Hold an incredible amount of "stuff" and easy to see and get at.

The first one had a dent in the bottom deck and the top right inner door was bent. The box was not damaged so I'm not sure if it was truly damage and manufactured that way. I offered pictures but Home Depot wasn't interested in them. The instructions were incorrect for the bottom deck (P2 vs P3) but it was easy to figure out on my own. The cabinet flexed a lot during leveling and installing and required some tweaking to get the doors squared with the opening...Overall, I'm happy with these cabinet but they are not a sturdy as the preassembled ones that I previously bought to attached to the wall (12 x 30")...

The instructions were fairly clear and it took a little while to assembly myself. An extra off each fastener was provided. It would be faster if you have an extra person. Cabinet seems sturdy enough or me; although, I wish the door panels were a little heavier. Downside is you cannot adjust the leveling legs from within the cabinet; nor, does it have a nut to assist with the adjustment on the outside - what you might find on a washer or dryer. Installing the shelves made me wish for a third arm, but I wound up using my lead (literally) instead.

Nice cabinets, everything easy to assemble until it came to the casters. these cabinets (and I purchased 3) were made for a stem type caster. these are not available I guess. so it came with casters that i will have to modify the cabinets in order to install. there are 4, 1/2-13 rivnuts in each cabinet that has to be removed, and that won't be easy. Drilling or grinding these big rivnuts are the only way the casters can be installed, not to mention having to drill the hardware holes. turned an easy job into a pain in the a**.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Subpar quality The size of the cabinet is nice but the quality isnt. The side panels are flimsy. If you push the corner of the cabinet after it is put together, it buckles inward. I am sure once it is filled with stuff it will be sturdier, but that gives you an idea of the quality. I tried to pick it up to move it after it was put together and the bottom bent in and now one of the doors won't shut. This was a gift that was pretty expensive and I was embarrassed because it looked so cheap.

The powder coated finish is very nice. But the most annoying thing is they didn't supply enough nuts & bolts to build it. And strength wise, the left side door has nothing to keep it closed except a 1/2" thin metal overlap between the doors. The right door has 2 magnets to keep it closed. They rattle a bit when walking in front of the cabinet. On a concrete slab, that won't happen. But the doors give a feeling of insecurity to me. The lock is a joke for security as well. I would have preferred to have another shelf. This only comes with 3. The back is built with 6 sheets of metal that reduce the strength and makes break-ins easier unless it's bolted to the floor and/or wall. I didn't put mine in a garage. It's in my home studio. Bottom line: If you need security, buy something else. Otherwise, like I said it's a very nice looking cabinet.

One arrived with a lot of damage to a side panel, and rather that return the entire box, I requested a replacement part. It has been several weeks and the part, a side panel, has not arrived yet. Three were other dents, but they were cosmetic and nothing to worry about in functionality. I would recommend opening the box and inspecting all materials in the store. You have to destroy the box to do so, but if you don't want to deal with dented items, check it out in the store first. The second cabinet was easy to install and looks great. There is a lock, but it is not a high-security cabinet by any means as it is thin metal and can be easily forced open. The simple cam lock will deter children from getting into your stuff. It is tall and can be a tip hazard. I was happy to see slots on the inside back wall allowing me to anchor it to the wall for added safety. All in all

Storage cabinet came in a well-protected shipping box, complete with all assembly hardware and easy-to-follow assembly instructions. One person can manage but is a lot easier with two people. Very sturdy when fully assembled and leveled with the floor levelers. Best cabinet of all that I looked at and at a great price-point.
