There should have been instruction in the box? If not try and contact either Home Depot for a return - if not used - or HDX.com

Hello Angie, good question. I would ask a Store Associate to go through a quick demonstration for you right there in the Isle & have them show you how to piece it together & what this can do. I have used mine from weed control to spraying waterproofing onto my fences. Hope this Helped.

I purchased the 2 gal sprayer, put it away for 2 months before opening the box to use it. Of course I have misplaced the sales ticket!
There was no hose that attaches to the wand....the whole thing is unusable.
Is there ANY PLACE to find a replacement hose?

Answer:
Try Orchard Supply Hardware but Home Depot should have it on record, if you charged the purchase, that you bought the sprayer, unless you paid cash.
The instruction sheet comes with part numbers and the hose assembly is Part B. Maybe try contacting HDX.com

I brought the whole thing in & went to a customer service associate & they brought me right to an isle I could get a replacement rubber hose the right size for under a coupe of bucks. If they can't find a hose to cut to length you could get a rubber hose from any Auto Parts Store too. Also, if you had paid by Credit Card they can track the transaction & get you a receipt for you. You just screw it one way or the next. The looser it is the wider the spray

Answer:
I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to as the "flow control cap". If you are referring to round nut on the under side of the flow, that should not be opened. It contains the spring to operate the flow control lever.

No, you should not have to. My guess is that the mold did not form correctly and sealed the whole. You may have to poke it through. My suggestion would to return it and purchase another brand. This product is terrible.

Customer Reviews

Rated 2.1 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stout Little Sprayer Bottle! This is a VERY good unit. The main tanks is a very thick heavy duty plastic/pvc type material. I bought this 2 Gallon Sprayer for spraying my 1/3 acre of land from bugs to ground clear. This has a nice design with the main pump section / cap assembly as all in one. A nice hefty cap seal works well. This tank also has a pressure release valve so no way of over pumping unit. I did notice & didn't like the handle or pump shaft due to a flimsy feel of it. I thought a full solid plastic handle would have made this a bit better. The wand is adjustable from a stream to a fine mist & everything in between. Works Well & was worth the price. May 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Can't be assembled I bought this sprayer one day ago, the assembly instructions are simple but the parts don't mesh and I am not going to bother trying to force them and end up breaking something. I am taking it back and purchasing another brand of sprayer. May 27, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Nothing extraordinary but it works For a low end sprayer this one works pretty well. I have only had it about 2 weeks so time will tell if it lasts all summer or longer. It is all plastic of average quality. It has an automatic pressure relief valve, Poly wand w/adjustable nozzle that provides small stream to fine spray adequately. The flow control trigger does have a lock feature with a reinforced hose. It has a semi-translucent poly tank that provides viewing of liquid. The best part is that it does have a 2 year warranty so you can return it if it doesn't hold up, under normal use of course. It is Assembled in the US with "global components". It is a couple of dollars cheaper than some other sprayers of this quality therefore I would recommend it if you are in the market for an inexpensive sprayer. May 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by just what I needed I am able to feed my 20 X 20 garden in about 25 to 30 minutes, also doubles as an insect sprayer, great product !!! I can even use it to spray around the house for spiders ants and those nasty lil wood eating Termites June 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely Poor I bought the one gallon version of this last year and when I went to use it the o-ring seal was broken and air leaked out around the pump handle (not where to o-ring lives). Also leaked around the relief valve which would not seal. I should have tried to use this right away because now I can't return it. I use to have a Hudson sprayer and that worked great, always. Home Depot should be ashamed of itself for handling such defective merchandise. I think I'll start going back to Lowes because I can't trust Home Depot to handle quality products. If you owned a business would you sell something like this that has so many bad reviews? Home Depot should pull these off their shelves before it leaves a bad taste in any more customer's mouths. August 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Product It was impossible to build up any workable pressure in this unit. It leaked from the top lid around the pump mechanism. I found myself constantly pumping in order to spray. The pump locking mechanism failed virtually every time I tried to pick up the unit. The pump handle itself is wildly uncomfortable to use. The half-found design digs into the palm of the hand, leaving it soar and bruised. I would not recommend this HDX product. It is terrible and I am returning mine. August 24, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by There are better sprayers 2 Gal. Multi-Purpose Sprayer I have purchased a few HDX brand products in the past and found them to be good products but I would not recommend this sprayer. The sprayer comes packaged in a box with well written instructions explaining assembly and usage. Once you have assembled the wand/hose you install it into the tank. When you have completed the assembly you are ready to go. The sprayer works like any other sprayer. Remove the pump, pour in your chemical, add the correct amount of water, screw the pump back on, pump it up and you are ready to go. The pump handle is very flimsy, if you use it to open and close the sprayer it feels like it might fail. Many sprayers come with the top shaped so that it works like a really large funnel, this sprayer does not. The sprayer only comes with one nozzle, you should be able to adjust it to change the spray pattern but it either sputters fluid or sprays in a stream. The spray is very light, there is a flow adjuster on the wand but it did not seem to change anything. The feet on the bottom of the container are angled inward making it very easy to tip the sprayer over. The container does have graduated lines for filling but they are difficult to read. The wand can be stored on the side of the sprayer via a built in holder, this worked quite well. For a couple of dollars more you can purchase a much better sprayer. Pros: Good documentation Flexible hose Pressure release valve Cons: Only one nozzle Short hose Easy to knock over Fill Markers are hard to see, should be printed in black April 29, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Stopped Working After About 10 Uses I used this sprayer about 10 times at the most. It worked well at first. I tried to set it up for plant food spraying a few days ago. It would not spray; only air came out of the nozzle which kept falling off of the wand. August 26, 2016
