Installed and grounded properly these light fixtures are like any other and can be tied into a dimmer. Here's the deal... it's the bulb you install that makes your answer yes or no. 1: old school incandescent bulbs up to 60 watts, OK, EXCEPT "three ways"...that kind that go brighter in increments. 2: CFL bulbs,( the squiggly tube) kind, and 3: the new LED bulbs, if dimmable, are usually marked prominently on the box. If in doubt at all, ask. (I know, it's like asking directions, ask anyway) . I think Home Depot still sells Lutron products. They have a standard light switch with a tiny dimmer slider tucked just to one side, way better than the bulky box and knob of the past. Follow all dimmer installation directions to the letter. You'll need a medium sized Phillips head screwdriver and an extra pair of hands would be helpful but not absolutely necessary.

Just under the "roof" of the lamp there are two screws that hold the top to the bottom. Make sure that you have a good grip on the bottom, because when the final screw is out, there's nothing but you to keep the glass and frame from falling, which is why a helper is nice. The two halves should separate, exposing the bulb for changing. While you're at it, take the time to remove all the little "critters" that love to set up shop in outdoor lighting, before putting the two halves back together. Happy Fixing!

1-Light Rustic Iron Outdoor Wall-Mount Lantern (2-Pack) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good light for the money These are the same exact lights as the old Commercial Electric brand HD carried years ago. And two for one price is why I bought them. Ours have been up for 4 years and they have held up well over NE Ohio Winters. To add what others have said said, you need to be very careful when changing the bulb. They are nice looking lights however, the tiny screws could easily be dropped and lost. I have 6 of these and am in the process of replacing with thumbscrews. It is a 4mm and i found black thumbscrews at a hardware store and HD does not carry this size. The screw will just need cut off a bit to make work. Too bad Hampton Bay did not change these over to thumbscrews to make changing the bulbs easier. I plan on putting Led Bulbs in though so changing in the future won't need to be done often.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Commercial Electric 2-Pack I bought other fixtures, but ended up returning them. I grapped a box of this 2-pack fixture to try out and liked the look of them on my house. The were inexpensive and do just what I wanted them to do. The only trouble I find is that the two screws used to hold the fixture together between changing lightbulbs are very small; easy to lose. They screw in from below, which makes them even more likely to be dropped. No "extras" are supplied, and I dropped screws three times when installing six fixtures (3 dropped of 12 total). I was lucky enough to find two of them, but lost one for good. The only other problem I have with the fixtures is that they don't hang straight. They lean in toward the home a bit, but that isn't enough to sway me agains them; just thought you should know. All-in-all, I would recommend these fixtures, but be careful with the screws; use a magnet screwdriver if you have one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect match to the ceiling fan we bought The lights were easy to install on our open block atrium wall gracing either side of the wrought iron gate that opens into the atrium . Even more importantly they are a perfect match for the ceiling fan and light fixture we just installed in the atrium. The price was amazing and the craftmanship of the lights was excellent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looking lights. Tiny, easy to lose screws. These are nice contemporary styled lights at a great price. Like other reviews stated - there are tiny screws that are easy to lose and no extras are included. You may want to lay a tarp down so dropped screws do not get lost. Also, the lights are quite heavy and drooped forward even though they were installed on mounting blocks. Each had to be shimmed to sit level. Since no other reviews mention this - perhaps the problem only ours.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from rusty after 6 months... I bought 2 two packs of these fixtures for the front of our home. It was a compromise based on price....I now see why. These fixtures have rusted tops on them after only 6 months. Very unhappy. I would like to return them if I could.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Attractive & Well Priced These wall mounted outdoor lights are very good looking and give off a lovely glow through the ivory glass. The price for two fixtures is excellent. We like everything about them except that the two screws that attach the bottom portion to the top are very small and difficult to work with. No extra screws were included and it is easy to drop & loose the tiny screws. But once installed they are beautiful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Having to remove and chase minuscule screws to change a light bulb quickly becomes frustrating. Having to remove two tiny screws and chase them across the ground shows why they were on clearance.
