Customer Questions & Answers

How would you secure this to a concrete slab patio?

Asked by: Deedle
You could bore out a hole big enough to drop some lead anchors in and then use blots with washers. I used wood screws, but I was only screwing it into a deck. Keep in mind that it isn't prone to failure at the deck level, it is going to fail at the top. Good Luck

Is this gazebo available in store, or online only?

Asked by: Marcus
I ordered it online, but had it delivered to the store for pick up - so no shipping costs. Only took a couple of days to come in. Store personnel helped load it into my Ford Escape.

I know you can't bury them at Home Depot, but if you contact the Arrow Gazebo people maybe they can supply them for you. Sorry I can't help any more than that. We put ours together last year, so I can't tell you much more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hanging Outdoors We love ours, put in a hammock & modular outdoor sofa. Really looked great when we added the Astro turf. Using buckets with gravel to hold against the wind. The netting Really keeps the flies out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product My husband and brother were able to assemble this in about an hour and a half in spite of the directions. They both complained that the directions could have been much clearer. With that said, I love this gazebo. It looks really nice, is sturdy and just the right size for our backyard. Ohh and the price can't be beat. We live in Los Angeles, so I don't expect any major storms, but we did anchor the corners with sandbags because we don't have grass nearby to secure it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Far So Good After reading many reviews, I decided to purchase this gorgeous canopy and I have no regrets. The package shipped complete with all the necessary hardware and instructions. For $200, plus the cost of added hardware for my own security, this is proving to be money well spent. Construction took about 2 hours. My daughter and I started in the garage assembling the panels. Some of the holes in the top of the metal frame didn't quite line up but I used my small battery operated drill to make new holes in the right place. Not a big deal at all. A neighbor walked over to comment on our progress and ended up helping to finish. 3 people are DEFINITELY needed. If you're as short as we are, 5'7" and under, you'll need a small ladder. The most challenging part was putting the top canopy cover on. It was a very tight fit but again, no big deal. The metal is REALLY soft so be careful not to overtighten the screw, especially if you decide to use a drill like we did initially. I haven't checked to retighten anything that may have gotten loose, but I'd advise doing so if you get a lot of wind. Because this is Central Florida and we get some windy weather from time to time, I used large tent stakes (see photo) in each corner and tie down straps (see photo) to secure the frame to the ground. I don't have a concrete patio nor a wood deck, so for my own peace's sake, I chose to go this route. No regrets. It's been about 2-3 weeks and I'm still loving it. This is where the magic happens. The shelves support potted plants with room beneath for a nice small palm or other decor. The hook in the top is currently holding a huge fern that I found at a local farmer's market and string lights that make the night time even more memorable. I'm considering the outdoor ceiling fan when it gets warmer, but for now, I'm enjoying the cool crisp evenings awaiting an occasion to pull out the grill or fire pit and create more memories.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent replacement gazebo. This gazebo replaced a 12x12 we had which had been damaged by wind and sun over the past 8 years. We no longer needed such a large one, so bought this 10x10. Although the frame is lighter weight than the other one, it supports the canopy well and was very easy to assemble. The corner shelves are a very useful feature. The canopy handles wind well due to the four-inch overhanging "fringe" which ducts the wind below the canopy rather than catching the wind to stress the canopy. The corners of the canopy attach to the top of the corners of the frame through use of a brass grommet which fits over a built-in threaded bolt and is secured by a decorative screw-on cap. This is much easier to assemble and, I believe, stronger that fitting the ends of the canopy support rods into a "pouch" of fabric at the corners. The other gazebo we had had that type of attachment and was always the weak point of the construction. We live in coastal South Carolina and experience frequent windy conditions and thunderstorms. This gazebo has so far withstood all weather with excellent results. It is anchored at each corner with nylon tie=down straps hooked into eyebolts set in the concrete slab of the patio. Overall, an excellent gazebo, perfect for our purposes at an excellent price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Worth it.....for a while This gazebo looked amazing in our yard. We enjoyed it last year, but it is not going to make it. This morning the notorious Hampton Bay welds gave up. I thought that by taking down the fabric in the Fall that it would be good enough at least for a 2nd summer, but that wasn't the case. I had JUST bought a replacement fabric a week ago by the way. I can't say I was not warned because I did read the reviews before I bought it. For the price it wasn't bad, but had I known it would last 14 months, I would have passed. Good luck.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Won't Hold Up Against Wind My husband and I absolutely loved this gazebo after a very long day of putting it together. We had a lot of trouble getting the canopy to stretch over the frame. It looks gorgeous, and we thought it was perfect for our backyard. We anchored it down (I would NOT recommend just letting it "sit" on a deck or patio) but it didn't even last three months. One storm ripped it to shreds. Both the canopy and metal frame were destroyed, and took out a chunk of our roof when it flew across our yard. We're extremely disappointed to have wasted $200. It is beautiful, but way too much work to take down each time it rains or gets windy.
