Answer:
You can buy a sheet of 1/4" oak lauan plywood, cut it to fit the sides and back, and get the closest match in a stain that you can find. The pieces can be glued on using wood glue, and the corners finished with oak corner molding, which can also be glued on. This is exactly what I did, turned out looking great. I didn't apply the stain or polyurethane until everything was glued in place.

Where are these cabinets manufactured?

We are concerned with the outsourcing of products and labor to other countries and always try to buy products sourced from and made in the USA.

Answer:
The products are sourced from Mexico and other international sources, and the United States. They are all assembled in the United States, where the bulk of the production labor resides.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 16 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Adequate The door frames and doors and drawer fronts all look very nice, and are solid oak. The drawers are adequate, and will probably last 10 + years. The parts you can't see are pressboard and stapled together. we bought the sink base with 2 18" door/drawer side cabinets, and when all screwed together and to the wall, makes a pretty solid unit. If you don't know how to install these correctly, you could wind up with a flimsy cabinet. We knew that going in, and are pleased with the final product. September 23, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor purchase and delivery Product was delivered broken and required return to another store location as store where purchased did not have product in stock. this was part f a special order because of company policy requiring you to order 5 cabinets. all but one cabinet could have been picked up at local store. shipping one cabinet would have been cheaper and faster February 10, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality I purchased 11 of these cabinets for my kitchen, almost all of them had some type of damage. they are poor quality with joints not lining up or joined correctly and very cheap materials are used , they are very cheaply made. I have had one cabinet replaced 3 times and it keeps coming back damaged, I have taken all of these cabinets back to Home Depot due to poor quality. December 11, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible experience and terrible product Experience of in-store pickup was terrible on these. Cabinets were dented and damaged all around. The "new" one they exchanged it for came damaged as well, we didn't even realize it until we got home and noticed a huge dent in the side. The cabinet doors were misaligned on 2 of the 4 we bought. Would not recommend this product at all. December 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kitchen i understand that the american classic cabinet series is not high dollar cabinets, but when you buy 3000 dollars worth of cabinets and it's the best you can afford, that shouldn't mean that when i get to the job site and open them, that it's ok that they are broken, falling apart chipped cracked and the sink base had to almost completely rebuilt before it could even be leveled. we as contractors don't have the time to run back and forth to home depot and keep returning and exchanging material, and for 300o grand i shouldn't have too. if there was more time for me, i'd rip them all out and start over with better cabinets. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fair quality These cabinets are decent if you are on a budget. They are fairly well built, for "cheap" cabinets, with a decent finish on the fronts and doors/drawers. They use cheap drawer slides that don't operate very smoothly, but you can't expect top notch quality for these prices. April 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good cabinets for the price Use these cabinets in your rental houses. They look good. Corner cabinets hinges are questionable and you should add extra screws to large draws to prevent them from come apart. Good quality for the price March 12, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor construction I have purchased 13 American Classic cabinets for my kitchen. Most have had some kind of issue. I overlook the miss matched stain on different oak wood species and knots. The big issue is the construction is poor. The cabinets are assembled with small gauge staples and little or no glue in joints. Some backs or sides have fallen apart when removed from their box. Where glue was used, it is applied as you would use caulk along edges after joints had been assembled. Plan on rebuilding where necessary. I rebuilt some units I am using for heavy dishes and can-goods by regluing and screwing June 4, 2011
