The fan looks and works great. I'm not a pro fan installer but I'd say this is never a very easy thing to do. The design of this fan does make it easier than it could have been. As far as quality and value the fan blades are plastic, for $150 I expected wood but it seems this is the way all the fans are these days. Only time will tell if the plastic holds up and doesn't warp. I imagine that would cause some problems like wobbling. For now though it works great and I didn't have to use any of the weights included to adjust balance for wobble.

Motor is load and blades don't move much air. Motor died after 1 month. Fairly easy to install. Looks ok.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JesseH Works Well
Very quiet. Bought three speed wall switch for the fan so that nothing would be hanging from the fan. Had the fan installed because it is too high for me to install it safely but that was also reasonable priced. Overall, very happy with the fan.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CalifBill Still not working
I cannot fairly rate this fan since it is still not working.
This fan was first ordered almost 2 months ago. UPS said they delivered the first one, but later stated it was lost. Home Depot credited the first order and re-sent another one. During installation, my installer detected the fan switch was defective. He called Hampton Bay the 1st of this week and we are waiting for the new part to arrive next week. I love the looks of the fan and still want it. But, my luck with getting this fan working has been awful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rebel21 Fan is a winner for outdoor patios.
Started with two inferior fans mounted on our second floor patio on a hillside overlooking the Sea of Cortez in Mexico. Both fans quickly rusted and one quit working completely the second year we had it. They were rated for outdoor use but most times one gets what one pays for.
Have replaced one of these fans with a Hampton Four winds fan and 8 months later it still looks brand new so bought a second one to replace the rusty, noisy other model fan. The Hampton is very quiet, looks classy and most important handles the gusty sea breezes without the rocking and rolling that we got with the other fans. Not sure how or why they work so well but they're certainly a great value for the humid, salty air that we deal with at our vacation home.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by RBWJ Worst buy ever!!!!!!
I bought two fans to replace the ones hanging on my front porch, after putting them together and haning them we turned on the power only the light would come on even if you turn on the fan with the light wire disconnected. So we checked everything twice then I called Hampton bay they told me it was a bad switch plate and they know about them! They would mail me new ones in 7-10 days ! I just bought it today!!!! So I took it back put together !

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by tremdis Looks great, but works poorly
My wife and I picked this fan (we bought 4) for our back porch because it looked great and the price was reasonable! However, after a very easy installation we understood why the price was so low. It barely blows air! We stood underneath it trying to find the spot where we could feel the air..."that's just not right", we thought...it's a fan and you are suppose to feel the air it blows right away. I was really dissapointed because I really liked the way it looked.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Grammy Loved the fans. One switch did not work.
The switch on one fan did not work. Since we live 90 miles from the nearest Home Depot, my husband purchased another switch and the electrician installed it. Would be nice to be reimbursed for the switch and the inconvenience (including the extra time the electrician was on the clock).
