Reading the review's this fan must have 10ft clearance between floor and the blades right?
I'm putting the fan center of my pool table is this ok? Now I have less then 8ft from top pool table to blades.
I'm Imaging the top of the pool table is now the floor, will this restrict the airflow or hurt the motor?

Answer:
I do not recommend this fan over a pool table. It is a high CFM unit that is designed to be used in barns and warehouses. Buy a standard interior 52-56" five blade model with short down rod and option for ceiling hugger (if needed).

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The 10ft clearance requirement is more for safe operation than airflow. The industrial label and design require 10ft of clearance for safe operation to make sure nothing comes in contact with the blades. The airflow will not be affected by having it above the pool table.

Mounting on a 18" laminated beam

This question is from Industrial 60 in. White Energy Star Ceiling Fan

July 9, 2016
I have 12.5' ceilings in my garage and was considering mounting this fan on the laminated (structural engineered wood) beam that hangs down 18" from the ceiling. I should be able to make the 10' clearance requirement. Is there any disadvantage in airflow having (2) pockets that would be created by mounting the fan directly on the beam?

Customer Reviews

Industrial 60 in. White Energy Star Ceiling Fan is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 206.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good air movement This is exactly what I needed. In spite of the recommendation it have a minimum of 10' clearance, I put it in my bedroom, and am quite happy with it. Contrary to another reviewer, I don't find that the air movement on the highest most powerful setting is too much to ever use. During the middle of the summer when we have 100+ degree days that's exactly what I need to keep the temp in the room cool enough, especially when I'm exercising in the corner of the bedroom and sweating. However, I certainly don't sleep with the ceiling fan on anything but the lowest setting. I did not like the fact that you have to use a screwdriver to remove the bell housing to reverse the fan direction, so before I installed it I drilled a 1/2" hole in the bell housing so I could reverse the direction without having to remove it. I like the fact that the fan motor has a lifetime warranty.

Fan control needs a deeper than normal electrical box to allow enough room for hookup.Very disappointed with air movement even when running at top speed. This fan was purchased to replace an 8 year old $29 '' k-mart special ''and was not up to the task.Looks cool...but not.

I bought it for my standard size 2 car garage- everything I was looking for. 4 is the top speed but It doesn't seem to have the same brisk breeze as other fans. Lowest speed is perfect to circulate heat when using the infrared garage propane fueled heater in winter.

This has been installed in a 40x40 pole barn to distribute heat from a wood burning stove and I've been using it for a couple of weeks now. It comes with a 4-speed fan controller and that is awesome. The blade direction is reversible, but it is a little awkward to get the switch as a screw needs to be loosened on the shroud on top of the motor to access it. The fan is mounted 13' from the ground and on high speed really blows things around. For the winter in Michigan, I've reversed the direction so that it pulls the air up and distributes the heat. I've measured measured the heat with my temperature gun in different locations and heights and it does a great job of air distribution. Installation was simple and it looks great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fan for a great room. I purchased this fan for a 2 story great room that measures 22'x20'. I had an existing 4' down rod from a previous fan and used it in conjunction with this new purchase. The fan is roughly 12' from the floor and on high it will blow papers off the desk in the kitchen. It's noisy but I'm OK with that as it moves a lot of air. The wall switch has 4 settings, low, med, high and extra high. On Low and Med. you hear a slight hum from the motor but it's not distracting or louder than a newer fridge. I would certainly recommend this to anyone in need of a ceiling fan only, no light kit is available. The only complaint that I have is the plastic wall switch feels and looks cheap. Right now it's doing the job but I plan to replace it with something more in line with the rest of the house switches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Ceiling fan I ever purchased! At first I wasn't to crazy about the style as they were pretty modern for my western decor. After they were installed they really don't look that bad. These fans move a lot of air, price is excellent compared to other fans that move about the same CFM's. They were easy to assemble & install. I have replaced 13 fans with this fan and the difference is amazing! The average temperature in July was 108 and I was running 3 A/C's and now we are running 1 or 2. I am anxious to see my next electric bill!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great amount of Air Circulation We put it in our Loft/entertainment room. Looks good and have amazing Air circulation. Really Fast, love it. One thing that if you want to change it from Forward to reverse circulation, you have to unscrew the cap and then get to the reversing button. Other fans have the button exposed which is easier, just get up the ladder n flip the switch but this one you need a screw driver. Noise level is ok. Not very quite but at that speed and air circulation, i expected it to have some sound.
