Yes, they gently rock - not like a full up rocking chair with rocking rails, but gently, almost like a glider.

Answer:
The rocking chairs if you look at the description are "motion" chairs. And yes they do rock and are very
comfortable. They are great for guys who cannot seem to sit in a chair without leaning back on the legs, so this motion chair allows them to sit back in comfort.

I bought them and they are going back. This doesn't look like any resin wicker I have ever owned and looks like it would break very easily.

The glass sits in a well. If you turn it on it's side, the class will fall out, but it doesn't exactly slide.

Glass is laid on top and is temporarily secured by plastic belts. You can turn it on its side without it falling apart. we moved it down a sidewalk on a dolly with the plastic belts in place and the glass pieces did not move at all.

There are locking mechanisms for the table-top, but it should still be handled delicately and not placed on its side.

Tobago 7-Piece Patio Dining Set with Burgundy Cushions is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this dining set! I ordered the Tobago 7 piece dining set without slipcovers, and bought dragonfruit slipcovers separately (only because I wanted matching pillows for a seating set to coordinate the look, and the pillows I liked came in dragonfruit...I wasn't sure they would completely match with the standard color in this set). The set arrived on time and I was glad to have the Basic Home Shipping option so that I did not have to take a day off of work to wait around for a freight company to deliver it. It was packed really well (in fact, unpacking it from all of it's protective layers was the most time-consuming part of putting it together). It was easy to assemble - the non-motion chairs came in one piece and the motion chairs required just a bit of assembly. I bought two extra motion chairs for my set as well. The table is heavy but my husband and I were able to complete the few steps required to attach the legs, turn it over, and voila...we were done! I was impressed with the weight and quality of the set and feel like it will last us for many years. The glass top is super easy to clean. There was one big chip in the paint near the edge of the glass on the tabletop, which I superglued back in place since the paint chip was actually there just not connected to the table. There is another small chip in the paint that is missing in another spot, and I am trying to figure out a solution for that. Almost as good as the dining set itself was Home Depot's customer service. Two days after ordering this set plus the two extra motion chairs (which had just shipped that day), I noticed it had gone on sale for 40% off!!! I called Home Depot Customer Service and in the span of a 5 minute conversation, I explained the situation and was told that they would honor the sale price and credit me the difference from what I had paid. The credit appeared a few days later, as promised. All in all, I would recommend this set to anyone. The motion chairs are awesome and even the non-motion chairs are so comfortable! We've had two parties with this set and everyone comments on how comfortable it is. If you're on the fence about whether or not to get this set, don't hesitate. Buy it. You won't regret it. And don't forget that you have the option of different colored fabric if you order the set without slipcovers (Model # 151-115-7D-V2-NF).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well engineered, solidly constructed table and chairs The table design is better than expected. The two end chairs do rock gently and are not overly heavy, as are many outdoor end chairs with round swivel bases. The other chairs are light weight but sturdy. The vinyl wrapping is similar to cane, rather than wicker, but in the same family of style. We put together the two end chairs using the box they arrived in for upending them and attaching the base to the legs. The cushions were obviously designed by an upholsterer - the two long tabs on the back hook have velcro tabs. Underneath the chairs is a metal rod. Either look for it or feel it with your fingers. Wrap the tab around that for a perfect fit. It makes for a smooth look with the chair - no fussy ties across the back. The table weight was heavier than we expected, so either have it delivered near the location you intend to set it up or have a furniture dolly plus two adults capable of lifting some weight. We assembled it using on the the chair boxes to rest it on, rather than upending it and having to lift it sideways and onto the legs. See photos for leg assembly. Legs are surprisingly well constructed with a long center rod attaching the legs to the table and extending through the legs. This table is meant to last. To open the table, give it a good tug and the middle leaf will come up. To close it tug it open again and it will activate a spring that will induce it to lower and then you can close the table. It is a great size for 6, using table mats. The leaf adds enough room for a spacious table for six or seating for eight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Solid dining set but cushions hold water for days... The frames of the table and chairs are solid, but the cushions hold water for days. After one normal rain it took almost 7 days to completely dry out the cushions. Also, there is no place to attach the cushions, not a big deal because they stay in place. Though it does look funny having the Velcro ties hanging off the back because there is nothing for them to attach to. Just bought the scotch guard to spray on them to see if it makes a difference. At some point I will buy new cushions. Besides that, it is easy to put together and feels as though it will last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Beautiful, and Spacious This Tobago 7-Piece Patio Dining Set requires minimal assembly. The legs attach to the table and the upper and lower part of the two rockers must be bolted together. I looked over each chair and the table top and could not find a single area where the weave was loose or not secured. The chairs and cushions are very comfortable. I think it's pretty innovative how the rockers look just like the stationary chairs. I didn't find it in the instructions but I wonder what the weight capacity is on the rockers. I'm about 190 pounds and they work just fine for me but I would guess that 250 pounds would be near the limit. While this table can expand with the leaf, it is a nice size without it. With the leaf, this is a large table where six people can dine with plenty of room to spare. As for the pop-up leaf, it works off a rail and cable system under the table. You pull one half outwards and the other half moves in unison. The leaf then pops up and you push everything together. A small tab at each end locks everything in place. I was tempted to give this set a lower rating than I did because the leaf system on my table would not function properly. It would expand but not fully to where the leaf would pop up. I examined the table and tugged and pulled on it repeatedly. I eventually got it to expand but I'm leaving it that way. I still gave five stars because this is a very nice table set and I think I simply got a bad one. For anyone that buys this, there is a two year warranty just in case you have any issues. Despite that one hitch, I really love this Tobago Patio Set. This set was too big for our covered patio but I plan to get two coordinating patio lounge chairs and a side table for that. I have this set sitting in the backyard but it has inspired me to do a paver patio this Spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Big Table I wanted a table for everyday for the 3 people in my family that live here and wanted to be able to expand it for get-togethers when I need to seat more people. This table is a little big for the first, but comes through for the second. My photos show you could seat six well in the smaller configuration. The expansion leaf makes the table a little bigger, but not gargantuan. The pop-up mechanism for the leaf works, but took a little jiggling back and forth to complete. Dimensions are dimensions, but this table was a little bigger than I thought, but it's a nice BIG table. The rattan wrapping gives it a little more 'formal' appearance than I expected. but is quite attractive. We will see how well it holds up under the Texas sun, but I expect to enjoy it for a long time. The powder coat metal finish is fine, but can be scratched pretty easily. I unpacked and assembled it by myself in about 3 1/2 hours, but I recommend 2 people. It comes in three big boxes, one huge, and I had to destroy them to unpack the contents, although the huge one was already pretty shot when it arrived. Everything is well laced, zip tied, and padded for shipping and it arrived in great shape, but it takes a while to separate everything, and while it is bundled, it is heavy. Actual assembly is simple and straight forward on the table. 4 chairs are assembled, but it takes a while to put the 2 rockers together, there are a lot of bolts and bolt covers. They include simple tools to assemble but I recommend a pair of pliers and a socket wrench to assemble the rockers. Overall, this is a very nice patio set and I would recommend it to anyone needing a big table and having the room for it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK for the price The best thing is the chairs are comfortable. The expanding top is great. The real negative is that the table started dripping rusty water after the first rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We LOVE this set! I bought this set during a special buy of the day, so I got a GREAT price on it. I'd read the other posts saying the wrenches included with the set were worthless, so I added some to the order and that made all the difference in the world. It was really pretty easy to put it together. I was able to do it by myself. I'm not the handiest person in the world, but I've put together some Ikea stuff in the past. The hardest part was flipping the table up after putting it together. It's HEAVY! I gave a 4 for quality because one of the metal plates that hold the bouncing (not quite rocking) end chairs together was split. I called Hampton Bay and they've said they'll send a replacement. Once put together, the set is really nice. I'm very pleased. The table is generously sized - can fit 7 comfortably, especially when it's extended. I didn't have any trouble with the expansion, there's a trick to it - making it click and pushing the locking mechanism - but it works fine. The chairs are wide and deep, accommodating lots of different body sizes and types. The cushions are nice and necessary - the chairs sit a little low without them. All in, I'm very pleased and would absolutely recommend. I wanted a reasonably priced set that would be comfortable to linger in after dinner; not something that was hard or uncomfortable and you couldn't wait to get out of. That's exactly what I got - I love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tobago Patio Dining Set The table should never have been shipped from the factory. The top does not line up properly and has an area that was damaged at factory and poor job of trying to make it look OK. I hide it with a centerpiece. I did not return the table/set because it would be too much trouble!! The set that I was supposed to receive well before Memorial Day had a damaged table. The table damage obviously occurred during shipment. I thought I would be using the set for Memorial Day, but due to having to refuse the first delivery just made the 4th of July. Will never order anything like this on line again from Hope Depot.
