I want to know if this low profile doorbell button (sku 775681) will work on its own or if this is just the replacement button for inside a larger doorbell button (such as sku 697223). Thank you.

It is placed inside a larger doorbell button holder. It is an actual replacement button.

Answer:
This push button insert can be used on it's own, but it is made to fit snugly into a plate like the one your reference. The 2 wires that connect to your door chime and transformer attach to this insert, but it does not have a method then to attach to the wall or door frame. The insert is made to fit into a push button plate, and the plate is then attached to the wall or door frame with screws.

Is it normal for the light to burn out in 2-3 months?

This question is from Wired Lighted Push Button
August 18, 2015
I wanted to know if it is normal for this light to burn out in 2-3 months or less? I have gone through 3 of these already. The push button is easy to install but does not seem to last long.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for! All we needed was the button, so that's what we bought - this nifty little button right here. As we were putting it in our mid-century home's vintage doorbell , before we could even pop it in, the whole thing fell apart. One of the screws was in so tight, that it could not be unscrewed and as I am struggling with it, the whole things falls apart with light-bulb falling out. So I just brought it back to the store - the Home Depot easily accepted it back - and bought a new door bell. I ended up spending more in gas for two trip to Home Depot, than it cost to replace the whole thing. July 29, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Staw away The button would not stay in the doorbell button gang plate. The flimsy metals tabs do not provide enough tension to prevent it from popping out of the plate. January 18, 2015
