Product Overview

Cork flooring combines the beauty of a natural and truly renewable material with the comfort of a cushioned, warm and silent surface. It is highly sustainable since the cork oak trees are not cut. Only the outer bark is harvested, and it will grow again each 9 years. The new narrow and beveled plank format creates a more appealing and elegant look than traditional cork floors that are made in large panels. Cork flooring is warm underfoot, comfortable and soft to walk on, anti-microbial, fire and moisture resistant and provides unrivalled noise reduction properties. Installation is made easy with the precision milled glueless locking system. This floor features an integrated underlayment made out of cork. Easy maintenance: simply vacuum. Prefinished cork requires no additional sealing after installation. Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a great addition to your home. Ideal for all levels of installation. This floor qualifies for 4 LEED points: (1) EQ4.3 (Indoor Environmental Quality)-Low Emitting, (2) MR4.1 (Materials & Resources)-Recycled Content, (3) MR 6-Rapidly Renewable Materials, (4) ID 1-Innovation in Design.

Answer:
It is designed as a floating floor, so if you used it on walls you would have to break form and use an adhesive. As a builder, I wouldn't hesitate to try it.

I'm putting this cork flooring on a wood framed floor: Do I need to also install a paper underlayment or a moisture barrier under it as well? One section of the floor is over a finished basement; another section is over a crawl space. Thank you! N.

Answer:
It is recommended. While not as critical as a concrete slab, possible humidity variations in a crawl space and even between floors could possibly result in problems.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 17 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Decent Product I had this installed throughout much of my home the past 15 months. I did a kitchen and dinning room area followed by living room and hallway. All was well until the 2nd order the dye job was significantly different the last few boxes. I placed another order and had 1 box come the correct color but damaged and the others come mis-colored again. Home Depot was no help, I tried calling the company, Home Depot twice gave me the wrong phone number..... I've since ordered more again and had them come in mis-colored again. I gave up hope on ever getting the correct color and just decided to stagger the planks. It also isn't extremely durable, scratches and dents fairly for cork. March 30, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Scratches a problem! Even thin scratches are an eyesore because the cork under the stain is so much lighter. March 8, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by finish wears quickly After two years the finish on this floor is wearing badly. I've considered just replacing and taking a loss July 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice floor Very easy to install! I have installed several other floating floors, including cork, laminate wood and pergo. This was by far the easiest and took the least amount of time. We purchased about 35% more product than needed based on the reviews I read that said several corners were cracked /damaged from shipping. I am glad we did, I returned any damaged floor in full boxes . Floor looks great! August 5, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware! Is easily damaged. I've installed several cork floors and this was the easiest to install but the combination of the stained finish which is easily marred and possibly an inferior quality of cork adds up to an easily damaged floor which I regret putting in my home office. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect solution for my project This is a little outside the norms for flooring, but it worked flawlessly. I needed a new backing for my dartboard to keep darts out of the drywall. These cork floorboards are perfect as they provide a pleasing background and they do not damage the darts that manage to miss. And the dart marks are not noticeable. After adding a frame, I now have an attractive dart board and backer. March 6, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Floor! Installation was pretty easy! We love our cork floors. We have wood floors throughout the house and wanted something different in our kitchen and foyer. I have been doing a lot of research on flooring options for a kitchen and decided that cork would be right for us. We've only had the floors in for about a month and I must say I was a little neurotic about them the first couple weeks as far as water and traffic (our ktichen is a very heavy traffic area including a hyper large dog) but as I've seen it is much more durable than I thought initially. All I do is sweep it or dust mop it as needed. I called the manufacturer to ask them about cleaning and they recommended using a clean microfiber dust mop and spraying Bona wood floor cleaner on it and that would be sufficient. I would suggest putting coasters on table legs or any heavy furniture to prevent denting, I haven't experienced denting but I have read that it can happen on cork floors if weight isn't distributed evenly. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love this stuff We had purchased this for a small bathroom a year ago and when that bathroom (and the rest of my basement) flooded we used the same floor again and expanded it to a closet and an office. this stuf looks great and is perfect for any room of the house.
