Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Edward Very nice product and works well
Very nice product and it literally was minutes after removing from the shipping box until it was installed. I think I must have got a bad door that was split with the edges not completely routed correctly. About the hinges. Throw them away and purchase a more robust hinge that facilitates the same type swing. Other than that it is a very nice unit and would buy it again depending on how well customer support is at replacing the door. Wish me luck!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Retired66 Overall a nice ironing board
I am pleased with this ironing board -the only problem I encountered was it was missing a piece of wood at the top and a like piece at the bottom - they would not be seen unless you were over 6'2"(or you squatted down and looked under) once installed. However, I didn't want dirt to get in (or possibly, cold air to leak around) so I made a strip to replace the missing ones and it came out nice -once painted, you couldn't tell. It is really great to use -no more taking the conventional board in and out of the closet!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Baglady13 light weight & easy to install
We live on an island that's only accessible by small plane or boat. This ironing board was light enough that Home Depot was able to ship it to us by boat for free. We don't have the interior walls up yet so it was easy to attach right to the studs but it might be a pain if your walls are already finished. It's easy to put the board up & down - works great!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by gilx Good Product, bad screws.
Installed this for my fiance yesterday in her quilting room, and very satisfied overall. I am not the handiest guy, but have basic knowledge and basic skills. The directions were clear enough and the finished installation looks good and feels sturdy. She is overjoyed to start using it today. Took one star off for the cheap brass screws included to attached the hinges. Don't even try, just throw them out and use any other screws of the same size. Even drilling pilot holes and forgoing a powered screwdriver and using only hand-power, the heads twist off these screws immediately. I broke 3 before I realized the problem wasn't me. If you work around that, everything else is satisfactory with this product, although I have to seal a slight gap at the top (though it's not visible or unsightly in the room, just for energy efficiency ) which I expect to be easy and not a pressing matter in my case.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Beth A good product!
Our iron fits perfectly in the top compartment of the center and our electrician added a receptacle to that area. The swivel on the board is super and all parts of the product are sturdy and nice .. except the hinges on the door. Although the hinges work fine, they could work better. Home Depot did well delivering the center in a timely fashion. Please correct the hinges and this will be a perfect item!
We painted the door to match the trim in our home.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Goofy Nice, but cheap hardware
I bought the unfinished oak model since I am going to paint it to match my other laundry room cabinets. It is very well-made. The door and face frame are solid oak. It fits right against the wall with no gaps (as others have suggested).
The only drawback is that the hardware is cheap. The screws and hinges are made of soft metal. Don't even attempt to use the screws - they WILL break off or the heads will strip no matter now careful you are or how well you've drilled the pilot holes. Just get some better ones and save yourself the trouble. I did that, but used the hinges and unfortunately, broke one of them the first time I closed the door. The screws weren't in tight on the door side and when I pushed the door in, the metal part in the hinge snapped. I've emailed the company to get a new one, but still may get some better ones at the hardware store.
I am a small 53-year-old woman and installed this myself, except for lifting the unit into the opening. My husband helped with that as it is heavy.
I have a Rowenta Precision iron and it fits nicely on the shelf.
This is a well made product, just has cheap hardware. You will do yourself a favor by buying better hardware yourself.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by john6562 I'd give it zero stars if I could.
I installed and removed this unit in one afternoon. The concept is good, but it's very poorly designed. The cabinet looks great. But once it's installed in the wall, a little pressure on the ironing board causes it to depress by several inches. The ironing board is made of fiberboard, mounted by a single bolt to a turntable for the swivel, which also fiberboard. The support is insufficient, and the sag will get worse with wear and tear. The crossmember bar on this new unit was corroded. Finally, I had four of nine screws shear off, using pilot holes, at hand torque when installing the door. Terrible quality. Don't do it!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jane Does the job and price was right
The Hide-Away built-in ironing board seems to be a good product. We just installed it so I have only ironed on it twice. It does not have some of the features I had on my last ironing board which was an Iron-Away but it will be adequate for my needs. It does not feel as sturdy as my last one either but it feels sturdy enough and less than 1/3 the cost. Installation was simple. Definitely buy new hinges and screws for the door because the half plastic hinges that were supplied look very cheap and weak....not worth using. Other reviewers suggested this as well. Overall, happy with the purchase.
