Although this is a filing cabinet, I am using it as a stand for water and also a night stand in another room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by alpdlp Very good filing cabinet at a great price
I've spent the past year looking for an attractive two-drawer filing cabinet that wasn't exceedingly expensive. I ran across this one displayed at my local store and immediately bought it (I was shopping for light bulbs!).
The cabinet is sturdy and attractive enough that I'll be using a pair of these as bedside tables. This piece is exceedingly versatile (I can imagine using a pair as legs to a desk or removing the bottom drawer & railing if you want some open storage). Keep in mind that these units are not as deep as a typical metal cabinet . . . but I find this to be a perk, not a disadvantage!
Assembly was straightforward and took about 45 minutes. The unit will hold either letter or legal-sized files. The drawers extend almost entirely (so files aren't unreachably lost in the back). I would certainly recommend these for anyone seeking furniture-style filing cabinets!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by swc1 Great quality cabinet!!
I ordered online, and it arrived a few days early. I usually let my husband put these things together, but I got impatient and decided to do it myself. I was a bit apprehensive tackling it alone, and figured I would need his help in the end. I was surprised at the quality of the pieces - no bent cardboard backing to nail on.... I had my 2 boys ages 10 and 8 years running around, and still managed to be able to assemble it without getting frustrated. The parts were numbered by steps on the back - which helped a lot. There also wasn't a lot of different sized screws to mess with - very few parts and it was so easy! No hammering needed- just a good screwdriver. I took my time, and it still didn't take long. Just be sure and have the finished sides out, and when assembling drawers, make sure the correct sides are on left and right, or it will not fit into metal slides in cabinet. My sister saw it and wants one too. Great quality for price!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MichiganDIY It serves 2 great purposes...storage and printer stand.
This file cabinet looks great and was reasonably priced. It's sturdy, the color closely matched that of my desk, and the height is ideal for a printer stand next to the desk. Together with my other home office necessities, it completes my "circle of work" area.
Assembly was fairly simple and took less than 45 minutes.

Took a long time to put together, but works well. Sturdy and meets my needs while looking like real furniture.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scott Great nightstands!!!
Many of these reviews are simply wrong. I bought two of these today and set both up in less than an hour. They are solid, very heavy, and beautiful. I am so pleased with this purchase.

It should have been stated in the description that this cabinet features a hanging file system. We had not expected this.
It is also extremely difficult to screw the drawer's side panels securely without risking damage to the thin walls of the front panel (very thin where the screws need to be inserted). This is especially so because it is near impossible to hold the side panels at a perfect right angle whilst installing the screws. I believe it would be safer if the drawer were completely put together (front, both sides and bottom) before attempting to install any of the screws. This might help keep all the angles plumb or more square.

The box is very heavy and it is shipped flat. So there are lots of parts...but the assembly directions are good with just one caveat. When I was initially putting it together I really couldn't tell what was going to be the front and what was going to be the back. So you need to be careful of that and make sure you put the piece of wood that separates the 2 drawers and the bottom in the proper direction, so the wood finish and not the "raw" side faces outward. The finished product looks great and it is much nicer than a metal file cabinet. Plus the drawers slide nicely and it is very easy to reach files that are in the back of the drawer.
