Customer Questions & Answers

I want to replace my 2" faux blinds. I measured width of the ones hanging @ 22.5 but the measurement inside window is 23". Which size do I order?

Asked by: Anonymous
Rule of thumb. Blinds are cut 1/2" less than actual opening measurement to allow for operation.

Do the faux wood 2 inch blinds come with top and bottom mounting? I want to use them on my front door. Can they be mounted at the bottom as well?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes they have simple bottom mountings as well as easy top mounts.

I was a bit worried about ordering the right size blinds since I had a double-window which meant I needed to get the measurements almost exact so the blinds would install properly side-by-side. As you can see in the photo everything worked out just fine which doesn't normally happen to me. The blinds were cut the correct size and installation was not difficult at all. The hardware is the most heavy duty I have ever used. I am very pleased with the look and function of the blinds. I will definitely consider buying more of this same blind to replace all the other blinds in the house that are getting old.

My only major complaint is the cutting. For some reason they were cut on a bias. The entire left side is cut at an obvious angle, whereas the right side is completely straight. It is quite noticeable when the blinds are closed, but not so much when they are open. I suppose for the price I could not expect perfection. The wand is also crooked and refuses to be bent straight. I would not purchase these again for those reasons.

Liked the fact I could get right length. The price was as good or better then I would have got by buying in store and they don't shorten. We have had up less then a month but can see no cons. Am extremely pleased with them and would highly recommend .

The gearbox that tilts the blinds is made of very inexpensive and brittle plastic, on every one of our larger windows (5' or greater in width and height) the worm gear within the gearbox broke within 2 years. The plastic clips that hold the valance in place appear to be made of the same cheap and brittle plastic and we've had to replace most of them in out house. The replacement cost for the clips is approximately $3 (from home depot) for two clips, which is absolutely a rip off considering the quality. Do your homework first, spend a little more money on a product that will last.

My old blinds needed replacing, thanks to the never-ending curiosity of my cat who rammed her head between the slats of the old mini blinds. I figured it was time for an update, anyhow, and I ended up ordering these. The instructions in the package weren't very good, in my opinion; the illustrations were confusing. I used a YouTube video instead to figure out how to hang them on my own. After that, it was breeze. The hardest part was taking the old blinds. the new ones have been up for a week now. Raising, lowering, opening, and shutting the blinds are all easy functions. The little clasp thingy on the cord falls off sometimes, depending on how hard I pull it. Not a huge issue. The blinds fit inside my windows, which are not common sizes. I think they look great. I really don't see the reason to spend more on these type of blinds because these did the trick. Time will tell.

I bought three more blinds after seeing the quality and style of the first one we purchased. Especially great for bathrooms where real wood might not do well with moisture.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor design When we bought our new home we ordered (6) sets of these blinds. They look great but have a design flaw. The hook at the top of the blinds that the rod attaches to, to open and close the blinds is so thin that (2) of the (6) blinds broke within the first 30 days! The small piece of metal the rod used to open and close them is a thin piece of what appears to be brass. There is a hole drilled in the thin piece of metal, making it even more fragile, due to how close the hole comes to the edge of the metal. I would recommend these blinds if not for that flaw. I was faced with, either throwing the blinds away and ordering new ones or... buy a 2' piece of copper pipe from the pluming section, mashing one end of the pipe so it would fit over the stub where the rod used to attach. I went with option number 2. I just place the pipe under the blinds, at the bottom and use it to open and close the blinds. It works but I would have preferred having blinds that I don't have to custom-engineer a way of opening and closing them.
