They look really nice framing a double window in my living room. I brought them into the house and assembled them by myself. (Lady in her 50's) they are very cheaply made and some of the screws wouldn't go in all the way, BUT, for the price I paid, it was worth it as they look fabulous! They are light weight and the color of the shelves are a nice match to my wood floors. My only concern is becasue they are very light, if one of the cats were to hop up on a high shelf, it may fall over, so I will put heavy things on the bottom shelves!

Unfortunately the actual shelves were cut just a little to wide. This caused the front attachment of the shelf to not sit flush. Therefore the provided screws were not long enough. Went to Home Depot to find replacements. They did not have what I needed. Went to a local Orchard and they were able to find the proper length for me. It is up and looks good and works for my needs. The extra hunt for hardware was disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from looks great - better in person They are sharp looking - defintely rustic but classy - I got 2 side by side. I put lights around the back arch because I'm all about sparkle - maybe that negates the classy but I love them anyway. Directions were poor - I figured it out but it's annoying that there were no explanations - just unclear pictures and one step about shorter screws was missing entirely. Since I did 2 and learned from the first, here's how I found to best assemble: A couple caps in feet had to be carefully hammered in tighter to avoid wobbling so that came first. Then I layed down the bigger frame and propped open sides. Then I screwed in the pipes on other frame. Because it's rustic, the frame and shelves are slightly irregular so I tested the pipes to find where they best fit before screwing in tight because some wouldn't tighten all the way and had to be moved around to work. There are five shelves that were supposedly split into 2 with one letter code and 3 with another but nothing was lettered and I examined all 5 and could see no differences. I placed all shelves (grayish color up - have to keep them from falling over while testing) before attaching tiny screws in them because due to natural differences, I had to shift some around to fit/look better. I then layed frame with pipes on top of other and attached with longer screws (slightly propped up at arch so hands can get underneath - also helps to keep shelves from falling before screwed in). Then lightly screw in shorter screws around frame - believe it or not they are long enough once you tighten. Then stood it up and tightened all screws. Done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design Really liked the way it looked in pictures and now that I have it, it adds a really nice appearance to the room. Assembly went well thanks to ab99's directions which I followed. Recommended to any one who wants a distinctive and functional piece of furniture. It will also generate favorable comments from others who view it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very satisfied with this shelving unit This shelving unit came in a large box that took 2 people to handle, but only because it is awkward to move with one person - the weight of the unit is ok to move with one person once it's assembled. The wood shelves have a light/medium brown weathered appearance, which was the look I was going for. Some have commented on the difficulty of assembly, and with some holes not quite lining up, but I found it went together fairly easy in about 1 hr. I loosely started all of the screws, then stood the unit up on a level surface before tightening everything - in order to make sure it was level and plumb. I also marked and pre-drilled the wood shelves a little before securing the screws - just to be sure I didn't split the wood.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It's very rustic! This is a nice piece but much more "rustic" than expected. The finish of the metal looked black and was flaky. Put a cover down when you assemble as paint flakes will come off the finish. The wood shelves are also very rustic and weren't finished well - even a couple of splinters on the edges. I ended up spray painting the metal frame gold and antiqued it. Going to stain the shelves or replace them with glass. Looks beautiful now! Guess I really wanted something more sophisticated looking. If you want rustic you will like it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very disappointing This bookshelf is a little deceiving in it's look and style. The shelves are a very lightweight wood in a greyed tone and in places, just one or two spots, the metal parts are very rough. The assembly instructions showed the parts clearly but had no wording about how to assemble them...just arrows! The 3 metal bars that go between the top curved part would not screw in all the way on my piece, so it does not stand straight against the wall. Hope you have better luck.
