Answer:
Figure about 28 x 40 x 22 out of the box and handlebars unbolted. Probably would NOT fit into the back seat of a mid-size sedan, but should go into a truck or SUV okay. If you order online, Home Depot will ship directly to your home. -Robert@Honda

The auger stops spinning, but the engine keeps running when you let go of the auger clutch on the handlebars. There is a separate ON/OFF switch for the engine. -Robert@Honda

Even if you could find / buy the starter, its a very tight assembly. You'd have to take most of the blower apart just to get the starter installed. If you'd experienced at auto or yard/farm equipment repair, you could probably do this. If not, I don't think its worth the effort.

Answer:
It is possible, but would not be a good choice from a cost perspective. The engine blocks are slightly different on the pull-start and electric start models, so you'd have to change out the engine block in order to install the electric starter. Just those parts alone, not including any labor, would cost over $300. If you really want the electric-start HS720, suggest you sell your AM and buy the AS. Read More

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 35 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased! Assembly was easy except that there were 3 bolts missing which I purchased at a local store. It is easy to start and cleans the driveway really well. It seems to be very well built. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding! I like everything about this Honda model. Easy to assemble. Easy to start. Throws snow very high and far. Cleared the driveway and walkway comfortably in less than half of the time that would take two people to shovel. This was the 2016 snow storm, more than 20 inches on the ground. But by the end, I was looking for more snow to blow. In the past, we couldn't get people to plow the snow for us because everybody wanted their help. It would take hours before they can come over to our house. Now with this Honda snow blower, I feel confident that no matter how much snow, I would be able to clean it up and go to work in time! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great machine My husband & I love the ease of this machine. We have another machine that is way too slow & does not clear the snow like this one. So happy with our purchase. January 20, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Snowblower Disappointment I wish I good write a positive review. I love my Honda lawnmower (best one in 31 years of home ownership). I thought the same love would carry over to the Honda HS720 AM snow blower that I bought at Home Depot on Dec. 12, 2014. After only four hours of use, the belt shredded. Jordan Mower (Midvale, Utah) is the closest Honda dealer but they were rude when I hauled my nearly new snowblower to them. The ill-tempered young employee said that the belt is a "maintenance" item, I could buy one for $26 to install myself, and Honda has no interest in working through a warranty claim that they consider a wearable item. My first snowblower, a low end MTD, lasted for 28 years. I replaced 2 belts during its lifetime. I just wanted a new snowblower as I near retirement and thought Honda was the answer. Last year, I used it for one hour because the West had an extremely dry winter. Before repeating my mistake, look at the other snowblowers available for purchase. I have found the same belt for $9.20 online and will buy one hoping for better success this time. Otherwise, buying a new belt after every four hours of use will become expensive quickly. Caveat Emptor!! December 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First Snow in SD 2015 Wanted a snowblower that was light duty, enough to clean a medium sized property, double garage. Optimal surface is flat, as the Honda gets a bit 'squirrely' on side to side slopes, but it is so light that wasn't an issue. Zipped right through 14" of wet snow drifts and was almost hard to keep up with on down-slopes, slower uphills. Pull started with ease. Loved the store pick-up and free shipping. I now consider this medium duty. Great machine. November 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Honda Best snowblower on the market. Also the most expensive December 8, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Snowblower Placed order at Home Depot website. Promised delivery within 2 weeks....received snowblower via UPS in 3 days! Delivery person wheeled the box right up my driveway and to my garage. All I had to do was take it out of box, install chute and I'm ready to go with the first snow! Honda even included a bottle of 5-W-30 oil. Excellent service. Did not have to drive to HD and load heavy box into cart, out to car, etc. Free delivery too! September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Snowblower I bought this snow blower last week before we got about 15" of snow in MA. The snow was a mix of light and heavy snow, but it handled it all very well. My driveway is flat and wide. This machine was able to clean it very well down to the pavement. It's easy to maneuver. The assembly took about 30 minutes to attach the chute and handle bar. It started right up with a quick pull. It was even easier than i thought it would be. I recommend using funnels to fill both the oil and gas. Some other snow blowers will be larger and more expensive, but this one can handle every storm. This snow blower is powerful and has no problem throwing snow a good distance. I highly recommend.
