14,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Heat Pump in Black and Silver is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 31.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive but works well The system is on the expensive side but, you pay for what you get. I am using this unit in my detached garage. It gets extremely hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter in my garage. I wanted to but an HVAC unit for the garage but that would have been very expensive. Since this Honeywell system has heat and AC it is perfect for my needs. I have the AC set for 76 degrees and my garage seems to be staying at the constant tempature. This unit is much bigger and heavier than I thought. This means it is a quality built unit because they try to build every thing out of plastic these days. Bottom line item works extremely well but on the expensive side.

My mother-in-law had a porch glassed in and it was extremely hot when the afternoon sun hit it. The windows opened vertically instead of horizontally and the window framing holding the windows was not sturdy enough for a conventional window A/C unit. We added a little bit of insulation to the window framing and this unit appears to be cooling the room down nicely. The advantage of this unit over a conventional window unit was we could vent it through the window framing. We haven't hit summer time yet so I'm only giving it 4 starts for now. I'm thinking about getting one for my back porch.

It cools pretty good. I'm not happy with the controls of this unit. You have to hunch over to see what's on the display. Or use the remote which gets misplaced. Also the vent doesn't open auto.

The area is larger than the unit is rated for. In the middle of a hot southern day this unit will drop the temperature about 15 degrees. Given the unit is rated for 550-700 sq. ft. And the space it is cooling is about 1200 sq. ft. I have to give this unit kudos. A second one would bring the temp way down. I just might do that. Some reviews complained about the operating noise level. That is not an issue. We use it during music rehearsals and it does not interfere with our playing. The only complaint I have is that the power cord is very short. They caution about using an extension cord, but you have no choice. You will need a large wire cord to ensure the power to the unit is adequate. Your house wiring is typically 12-3 (12 gauge-3 wire). Your extension cord will have to be a 10-3 (10 gauge-3 wire). When buying your cord look at the numbers and be sure your cord can handle the power. Simple test: If your cord is getting warm, the wires are too small.
