I used my Hoover MaxExtract Carpet Washer, model FH50220,once right after purchasing it then stored it indoors afterward. I was pleased with the initial results. I brought it out to clean my carpets before Christmas this year and the clean water/solution tank plug fell out and will not hold water or detergent. So disappointed with the quality of the machine, I purchased it because I trusted the name...never again. I went on the website to purchase a new clean water/solution tank and of course they are out of stock....must be a common problem!

This product is easy to use. It cleans better than any other steam cleaner we have used before.

Rated 1 out of 5 very disappointed
We bought th Hoover deep extract in July of this year. Used it once before the brushes stopped spinning. I vacuum twice before I use the machine to ensure removal of pet hair. I have twice wrote to customer support stating my displeasure. All I ever receive in return is some auto-scripted response telling me to take it to a repair service. I do not think I should have to drive twenty miles to drop off the unit and have them repair it. Again, I used it one time only! Seeing that I am an internet sales manager and am fully aware of the importance of good reviews and customer satisfaction, I am being for someone at Hoover to do the right thing and replace this unit.

I have had this cleaner for just over a year now, and have had nothing but trouble with it. At first I did not feel like the upright cleaner sucked up enough water from the floor, so I would end up on my hands and knees using the hand tool. It took hours to shampoo one room. The solution tank has always had a small leak, but now the unit is also leaking from the dirty water tank. I finally realized today that the problem is now in the way I am using the cleaner, but the cleaner itself! I am tired of cleaning up after this shampooer, I wanted everyone to know that they should save their money and buy another brand!

Rated 3 out of 5Â by Yaadie Broke during first use
The good: It definitely gets out tough carpet stains. It's effective but slow...expect several rounds of emptying dirty water tanks and refilling the clean ones.
The bad: Mine broke during first use. Somehow the brushes were jammed, and caused the pin that connects to the turbine to break. To make matters worse, I contacted Hoover directly (because there is a sticker on the product that said do not return to store, call Hoover with any problems), but their support was also disappointing. Ironically, one of the first things the customer service rep suggested was for me to take it back to the store. It was only after I pointed out that the sticker advised me to contact them first that a serious attempt was made to troubleshoot the problem. I'll spare you the details but it took nearly a month to get a replacement brush-block.
The 3rd disappoint is that the dirty water tank leaks a little. It beats me why they would assemble the walls of the tank with what appears to be some sort of glue instead of using a unibody design. I think Hoover's engineers misplaced their priorities on appearance instead of the absolute best build quality.
In short, it looks pretty, it works, but flimsy materials used for assembly. In my non-expert opinion, this product will suffer a catastrophic failure after 15-20 uses in a 1000 sq ft sized home.
