I need a new remote for my Hunter ceiling fan; the part no is 85095-02. I hope you can help.
Asked by: Anonymous
Just about any Hunter fan remote control will work. You almost always have to replace both the reciever and the transmiter, (remote). Look in the battery compartment of your existing remote hand switch to see if there are a several slide switches. These set the tranmiter and reciever to work together. If there are not then you will need to replace both pieces. If the old one has the slider switches you "might" be able to get just a new transmiter. I would probably replace both pieces since you don't really know which part is bad the tranmiter or the reciever. Hope that helps.

I lost the wall bracket that holds the remote. Can I buy it somewhere? Is there a specific item number so I can order it, without the remote control

You may try the manufacturers web site (Hunter) to see if they can part out these individual components, absent the Part Number, use the photo here to compare. Most are unique to the control, also the P/N may be here on the support page.

want to purchase Hunter "Sicily" ceiling fan but it does not have a remote control option...will a Hunter remote conversion kit work in this model?

Asked by: Anonymous
It depends on the type of mounting. If the Hunter remote reciever will fit into the wiring canopy it will work and makes life much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This remote works great! I now have this remote in 3 spots in my house and a Hampton Bay remote in 2 spots in my house. It's a nice feature to be able to turn the fan and/or light on and off without getting up. You can also adjust the speed of the fan from the remote. Installation is a little tough as there is no real great location for the receiver inside the fan. I use double sided tape or velcro tape to hold the receiver in place. The Hunter product is better made than the Hampton Bay product, since the part that holds the remote fits nicely over the previously used light switch. The Hampton Bay design expects someone to screw the remote holder into the wall, because it definitely doesn't fit over the light switch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very slick - works well - fair price My son uses this all the time. It works very well. It was pretty easy to install. If you have more than one of these in your house, you can change a setting so each remote will work exclusively with a specific fan. One of the nice features, it includes a cradle that attaches to the light switch. This makes a nice storage place for the remote.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works well, but... Purchased this remote control to use with my Hunter ceiling fan, which did not come with one. Everything works fine. However, I am no longer able to use my wall switch to turn on the lights. Another ceiling fan I had purchased for my living room came with a remote control, and I was able to retain use of the wall switch. So now I have this whole remote control hanging over the switch plate in my bedroom. Not totally happy about that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Product The receiver case just barely fits in tne fan ceiling bracket. The fact that the wires come out of the SIDES of the receiver rather than the ends further complicates the fit (who thought of that design?) Once installed it worked for a day and then the remote stopped communicating with the reciever. Now the fan and light turn on and off randomly. Piece of junk!
