It says 87 lbs but it feels more like 35! The UPS guy carried it in on one shoulder, you can push it across the floor with one hand. (Empty, of course)

Answer:
As a safe practice, I try to keep ample spaace along each side on the Freezer. This is to make sure that the unit has plenty of "breathing room" for prroper cooling. I know that there are no vents or intake areas on the left side, but would still be cautious.

Answer:
I would not advise setting the frfeezer on low pile carpet. This can definetly cut down on the units ability to cool, as the air will not get under the unit as easily since it is not on a hard floor. I would recommend a hard floor location as the carpet could play a factor in the units ability to function correctly.

I'd imagine it should be fine. Ours is in a room with low pile carpet as well and I've seen no negative repercussions, nor do I see any reason it would be a problem.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So Happy Happy Happy with finally ordering this freezer! Super easy to place where I needed it. Light enough to move alone before loading it up. Holds tons to stuff for the size 3.5. I live in a loft so the best place to put was in the closet and it fit perfectly. So happy to finally be able to loosen up my kitchen freezer. AND the price was just right! LOVE this Freezer! August 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Freezer for The Size and Price I purchased this freezer so I could get its downstairs with ease, cause I have a roommate that keeps stealing all my food out of the freezer, so this purchase was to take care of that issue. It so far at this point works great. I let it stand for 48 hours after I got it home cause I laid it on its side. Was cold enough for freezing within 2 hours and not the 4 in the Manual. Very Good Freezer so far for the price. April 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect size Been over 2 months since it arrived. Works well. Unfortunately the packaging inside the box isn't enough. There was damage/dent to the back side of the unit, but luckily it is just cosmetic and doesn't affect the working of the freezer. So far it's working great. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best size freezer for breast milk! Love this freezer! Product came on time and in perfect condition! Not too big, we put it in our dining room and doesn't take up too much room. Perfect size for mom's who want to store breast milk. Doesn't make any noise while running. April 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A super find! This little freezer is perfect for my husband and me! The size is just enough to take the overflow from my regular kitchen frig-freezer and it fits perfectly in a small space of the garage. It arrived in perfect condition and as soon as I plugged it in, it worked! This was a great buy for a fine little freezer. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little freezer. The perfect size for refrigerator freezer overflow. Super energy efficient. Tucks away into a small space. Simple, few features=less to go wrong! August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fast and quiet I plugged it in for the first time and thirty minutes later the “run” light went off. I was anticipating the usual two to four hour chill down period so I was surprised when the light went out so soon. I thought something had gone wrong until I checked inside. The inner walls were already covered with frost and the interior air felt freezing cold. Also I was afraid of possible exterior damage due to the reviews of other customers and their complaints of poor or skimpy packing. Well, my unit arrived in perfect condition and while some of the packing materials looked barely adequate they did the job and protected my purchase. I am quite pleased with the unit and I especially like the smaller 3.5 cubic feet capacity since I am single and I do not need anything larger. On top of everything else the unit is very quiet. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Size is Right for me GOOD NEWS: The size is just what I wanted, The lid opens wide. It got cold very fast. On a 90º day, it went down below freezing in a couple hours. I have it in my basement, which is between 65-75 all year without any heat or A/C, so I anticipate very reasonable electrical costs. BAD NEWS: Reading the reviews, many people complained of dents in the cabinet. Before leaving the store, I looked at the box carefully, and it seemed fine. The box was *carefully* lifted into the pickup truck, and driven home (about 3 miles). Upon unboxing the unit, the lid has a fairly big dent!!! It doesn't seem to effect the rubber seal, and I'd already "signed off" at Home Depot, so I don't think they'd swap it out anyway. My opinion is it's a "crush" injury from being stacked in the warehouse or on the boat from China. If I have frosting problems caused by the lid not sealing due to the crush/dent, the review will of course be downgraded. Fingers Crossed. August 19, 2016
