Answer:
The pet door itself is a flexible clear rubber material that flexes back-n-forth from the top and closes with magnets at the bottom after the pet walks thru. The whole insert itself is held in place by your existing door wall or screen door. When not in use or on vacation, there is a hard plastic slider insert that clicks in place and can be easily removed from the inside.

Was not able to install door because the bottom "lip" on our door is too high and the door doesn't compress enough..

One of your reviewers solved this problem by cutting 1/4" off the top.

My question is how do I cut 1/4" off the door? What tool would I have to use to cut an aluminum door?

Answer:
Just use a roto zip with a metal blade.its better you make a couple thin shavings then cut off to much. The door needs to be tight so if you think you need a 1/4 inch off, take a little less

Answer:
You will have to use a different system to lock your sliding door. A piece of wood dowel in the door track works well and it is cheap and easy to use. There are also special locks you can use.

Answer:
The pet door is not movable, but the patio door will still slide open and shut. The only problem would be if the patio door opening would not be big enough. It would be tight with a 5' door, but a 6' door is plenty big enough.

Answer:
Hey Babe - yes - the sliding door latch gets moved from the side of the original opening to the side of the 11" panel. BUT - check how far your door opens. i had a 5' slider, and it didnt open up enough for me to fit through! a 6 foot slider wont be a problem.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 202 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great dog door This dog door has a thin profile and is pretty easy to install. I installed it so the main sliding glass door will close with this in place. The screen door closes against this dog door. I had to add some small , thin pieces of aluminum at the top and bottom to retain it in place , but it wasn't hard at all. I recommend this door since it looks darn good. We used some doggie treats to lure the dogs through and taught them to use it. thanks. May 14, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product! This doggie door was super easy to install and is very sturdy. May 24, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dog door Not sure it works. We sent ours back. Couldn't get it over the top or bottom lips of door frame. April 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good solution My new 2 yr. old Havanese was used to a pet door, and I installed this on my 3 season porch door, and he loves it. Helps me from leaving the door to the porch open. April 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a Relief! I put my 15 year old son in charge of installing this product and he had it unpacked and installed in about 25 min. This pet door can be used with a screen door in the Summer and with the normal door wall in the Winter. Comes with a thick strip of spongy self-adhesive weather stripping for a snug fit. High quality solid product fits very well and can be installed and removed without harm to the existing door frame. This product does not require cutting of your existing screen and can be easily moved from one door wall to another. This pet door has saved us a lot of hassle with finicky cats wanting to be let out and in a couple hundred times a day! Would definitely recommend this product. July 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase. Dog started using first day Dog loves it and so do I! Very functional and easy to assemble and install. I am a 79 year old lady and installed by myself! April 7, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pet door For the price it was a great value. However the flap doesn't seal as well as I would have liked. The company did send me another without issue. April 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Per patio door My puppy is only 3 months and got used to the door on second day. It's sturdy, easy to install and good quality. March 1, 2016
