I absolutely love this product. I had looked on other sites and similar products were much more expensive. This was easy to put in, although we did end up having to take our original door off in order to install this one, but that was easy. It would be nice if they could make the adjustable part slide down another inch so we would not have had to do that, but it was worth it. I also went and bought some wider, white, thick weather stripping to put between my door and the doggie panel so air could not get in. I did not install the lock but just put a bar behind the door so it could not be opened. I still rate it a 5 because this was so much better than having to cut out a hole and permanently installing a doggie door. Plus, it looks really nice and my little dog learned to use it right away.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by maxsmom Great product! Makes life so much easier.
The door is beautiful, looks like a part of the original door. We did have a little problem squeezing it in. Our height measurement was at the top of the range, but you have to allow that you must lift it over the lip at the bottom of the door to install. We managed to jimmy it in holding it at an angle, but now it won't be easy to remove. We really need to cut a little off the top to make it more removable. Also, you'll want to use some wood shims behind to make a tight fit. And you'll definitely have to buy more weather stripping. But, once in, it's very nice. The dog learned easily to go through. He loves it; we love it. Actually, he loves it so good, we have to close it off sometimes to keep him from running in and out so much - he likes to play in the mud. It has freed up our life a lot, so we don't always have to worry about rushing home to let the dog out. Oh, we didn't install the lock; we just use a wood dowel to keep locked.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by IdahoDIYer Easy to install, puppy finally house trained!
The basic installation for this takes about 10 seconds. A more comprehensive installation takes only 5 minutes. As virtually everyone else has mentioned, this does not come with enough weatherstripping. The channel I set this into is just over 1.5 inches wide. This insert is about 3/4 inch wide and sits in the bottom center groove. This leaves a gap just under 1/2 inch on either side. I found a product in the weatherstripping section called 5/8" Backer Rod, and I was able to use that fill the gap where the insert set into my door frame. I used the weather strip that came included with the door to fill the space between the insert and door, however I found that it was so stiff there was still a small gap so I ended up buying a Rubber Weatherseal (3/16"-5/16" size) that has more compression to better fill the gap. We opted not to install the lock that came with the door and use a wood piece to lock it instead, so I can't speak to that portion.
Our original door opening was only 30", so there is substantially less room for the humans to use, but it is still manageable.
The doggie door is the perfect size for our Lhasa Apso. It took about 10 minutes to get my 5 month old puppy used to using the door. I stood on one side with a treat she couldn't refuse and she learned very quickly how to get it. We had previously been using a bells on the door system to house train her and still having about one accident per day in the house. The day before I installed this was the last time that happened and it's now been over a week accident free (perhaps a coincidence, but I think the freedom to go out completely on her own helped).

This was perfect for what I needed I have two cats one big one small the big one took to it faster but both had no problems using the door blinds open or closed. The door fit in track great not too sure how to utilize their lock and living in an apartment I’m not allowed to modify anything so I used the brackets the complex used to secure there door to the side and got two extra’s to secure pet door to sliding door and Walla! secured pet door weather strip was not enough to do both sides so I got extra. Tip for faster training for the first few days keep the food and water on the side you want them to do their business.

After reading several reviews on this product, I was very nervous that i would have problems with the fit, lock and weather stripping. It was a perfect fit and the weather stripping provided was just right for my door. I did not install the lock because i did not own a drill, so I used a dowel rod in the track to wedge the door shut. PERFECT! I am thrilled with the door and don't know why i didn't purchase this product sooner.

We recently installed your pet door on our deck that works with a sliding screen door. The pet flap is 7 x 11 for our 15 pound cat. The instructions were simple and everything fit precisely. Your training instructions (how to train your pet to use the flap) were perfect. Our cat learned to use the flap in 10 minutes and he loves it. We also love it because it looks like it belongs there, not something ugly added and it makes life easier for both our cat and us; for him to have this freedom and us not to have bugs in the house (we had been leaving the screen open). We shopped on-line before finding this and did not want to wreck our sliding screen door by installing a small flap directly in it. I wish more people could hear about this wonderful product design and precise engineering. We purchased this one at our local Home Depot. So easy, no ordering or waiting for something to be shipped. The price we paid was a real bargain compared to any other alternative pet door because no labor or tools were involved and it was set up within minutes. Thanks for a quality product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anna This product gave my dogs their freedom!
This product gave my two cavalier king charles spaniels their freedom to our backyard. They love having a little fresh air when they get tired from sleeping and being oppressed by our two Siamese. I would recommend this product for any dog lover that wants their dogs to go outside but doesn't want the flies in!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Doc1 Can be modified for short legs (as per previous reviewer)
It is a well-built product and can be used as-is, but our dog (old dachsund) has very short legs. To make it easier for her to go through the door I removed the screws on the side rails, slid the bottom cross-member, the door, and the cross member above the door out. Then I slid the bottom (taller) cross member in first followed by the door and the shorter cross member. Not all of the holes line up for the screws, but it is more than sturdy-enough. Careful not to pull the side rails apart too far or the glass comes out of the seal. It can be re-sealed with some patience. This process reduces the height of the door from the bottom by about two inches.
