Product Overview

KeypadLinc is a scene control keypad that allows you to control a local lighting or appliance load as well as multiple other Insteon controlled devices, all from a single location. If you're already using or plan to purchase an Insteon 6-button KeypadLinc Dimmer, 8-button KeypadLinc Dimmer, or a 6-button KeypadLinc On/Off Switch, why not use personalized buttons that specifically identify what lights, appliances or scenes each button controls. Until now, these personalized buttons have only been available as a one-off hand-etched custom order - with an extended turnaround time and high price tag. To offer a faster, low cost alternative, we have compiled data on our most commonly requested custom etched buttons and put together this convenient 25-pack of pre-printed buttons that feature the most popular applications for KeypadLinc. A 50-pack of KeypadLinc pre-printed buttons is available that includes the same buttons as this 25-pack with 25 additional applications. If you simply need some blank buttons with no printing at all, a 10-pack of blanks is also available. Give your KeypadLinc the ultimate in personalization and you'll be able to tell at a glance which lights or rooms each button controls.

  • Replace standard buttons on Insteon KeypadLinc dimmers/relays with pre-labeled buttons to avoid guessing which button controls what
  • Includes 50 pre-printed buttons of the most commonly requested custom-etched buttons
  • Personalized buttons indicate which light, appliance or group of lights and appliances they control

The older ones were X10 and did lose there address during a power break of even just a few seconds, I can't remember the programming for these as it was a while ago I swapped mine.
Pull it out of the wall (leave connected) and get the model number, search that model number with "how to program".
You will need to pull out a switch that you know it controls, preferably the first one and read the little dials on the back to give you a code and a number, with luck they will be one house code and 1 - 8 Read Less

There are two ways to program it. If you have an insteon controller, you enter the unit's address and the address of the unit you wish to control. (If you remove the unit, it will have an address code on the inside. This is the address to the switch itself. You'll then need the address of the light that it controls.) You can do it without the software, too. If you push the button on the controller for a few seconds, it will beep, and the button will blink. It's now in link mode. Go to the switch you want to control, and do the same. Both will beep. The units are linked. Repeat for each button.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great controller to start your system! We bought this with the hub, not sure if that was needed or not, and a few switches. You can program manually, but the PC software makes it drag and drop. Insteon has a ton of videos on (popular video site) and other users also post them, so watch them and learn. We now have 4 outside lights controlled from our main entry door. No more running around the house to turn them on. With the hub and PC software we have timers to turn it on at dark (dusk and dawn) for a short duration or as needed. Nothing better than coming home to a brightly lit house after a long day at work. We will gladly be investing in more switches and sensors. December 24, 2013
