It claims 14000 when it's only 13500 btu, and inaccurate cooling room.

We purchased this about 9 months ago in the spring for our Florida room. This room is almost all windows. The room does have AC but when we went to a 2 stage AC unit it didn't keep up unless the AC was on full AC mode. The room also faces south. We have double pain windows and blinds but still several degrees hotter than the rest of the house during the day. We purchased this AC and is rallied the vent through the wall using a dryer type outlet outside. It does have a flap that closes when the AC is not on. We also connected a hose to the dehumidifier so that the water was routed out doors as well. This has worked out well. The vent hose is not the best design. It doesn't stay on well. For us it's ok because the unit is close to the wall and so stays on because it's between the wall and the AC unit. Otherwise I think it would fall off a lot. Otherwise this thing cools like crazy. This has been a record hot & humid summer for us. This AC cools our 400 square foot room as well is flows the cool air into the kitchen. I don't know how the follow me feature works. We don't use it.
The filter is washable. We clean every 2 weeks per manufacturer recommendation. There Are 2 filters, top & bottom. Top is easy to get to. Back one has 2 screws. This could be designed better, with a snap in feature. However still pretty easy to clean filters. They are light and dry quickly after washing.
I can tell you this AC cools. We have been so much more comfortable this summer. We do watch TV in this room. The noise from the AC isn't too bad. We do have to have the TV a bit louder, but we find it tolerable. It has not made much difference in our electric bill either way.
Also our AC guy recommended installing a $3000 mini split to cool this room. This has been a very cost effective option. I would recommend.

This is a beautiful air conditioner but unfortunately mine must have gotten damaged in shipping . The first time I turned on, I got an error message that the water tank was full and I should drain it. I put the drain tube on and nothing came out. No surprise there, it was a new machine. Everything else, the fan the remote, worked. Since the compressor would not engage, I had to return it to the store.
I plan to order another one next summer and hope for better luck!

This air conditioner works well to cool off the rooms we need it to but the hose to the machine that is vented outside, does not stay in place. There should be a way to lock it in place but there is not. It falls off randomly. We set the timer when we are not home and might come home to hot air blowing into the house because the hose fell off while we are out. The only solution may be using duct tape but we are avoiding this solution because it will look terrible.
I would recommend this because of how well it cools and how reasonable it is priced.

Although the output of cool air is very good, we had issues with the hose and fittings. They would not stay connected to the unit. I made several phone calls to the manufacturer and spent an enormous amount of time on hold. I was promised a new set up would be sent immediately. That was June 12th. I called again on July 3rd and was told it would be over- nighted. Today is July 14th and I am still waiting.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 3215 I like the way it works but I think the connection in the back of it is not good one. I have to keep it up against the wall for the hose to stay in.
They need to come up with a way to make the hose to stay in better. I am having a hard time.

This is used in a larger room, approx 400+ sq.ft. It's size and noise are as expected with the larger unit... a little on the high side, but not out of line for what I need it to do. The unit cools our west facing living room effectively and the controls are flexible enough. My only complaint would be that the exhaust tube does not fit as securely to the unit as it should. That is not a deal-breaker and if the unit is not moved too much, it should not be an big issue.

Last year my central HVAC went out. I bought the 12000btu for the room I sleep in. Like an icebox if I want it that cold. I bought another one for a larger bedroom and just installed it. The only extra thing I had to do was cut the guide to fit the smaller window and land two wood screws in the window frame to keep the window in place. Placed the hose in place window to unit and powered it on. Within minutes the temperature in that room dropped about 10 degrees. O so happy. I went back to the store I bought it from and they aren't carrying it at this time, which was a disappointment. However Home Depot does! I may very well buy the 14K/15K btu unit for the livingroom. I believe it will keep that large area bearable this summer in South Carolina. It gets to 110 degrees here, not having air conditioning is not an option. As for people saying installation is difficult, I'm a 59 year old woman and no engineer. Easy peasy and I love it.
