Product Overview

This KitchenAid 18 in. automatic ice maker uses Clear Ice Technology to create the most preferred ice. The uniform cube size and shape is ideal for everyday use. And because it produces up to 35 lbs. of ice per 24 hours, there will always be enough ice for entertaining.

California residents: see   Proposition 65 information

  • Produces up to 50 lbs. of ice every 24 hours
  • Large capacity storage bin can store up to 35 lbs. of ice
  • When the bin is full, the ice maker shuts off automatically and restarts only when more ice is needed, to prevent overflowing
  • Drain pump removes waste water and is necessary for proper sanitation when floor drain is not available
  • Cleaning Needed light will illuminate when the ice maker needs to be cleaned
  • Integrated water filter helps to remove contaminants to help improve taste and clarity. Replace Filter light alerts you when it is time to change the water filter
  • Hidden, electronic controls provide convenient access to the Clean Cycle and Water Filter status lights and Max Ice option
  • Max Ice cycle will produce ice 56% faster, compared to normal mode, when ice is needed quickly
  • Leveling legs compensate for uneven floors and allow you to adjust the height of the ice maker for specific installation needs
  • Door Ajar Alarm sounds when the ice maker door is open for 5 minutes and will repeat every 2 minutes until the door is closed to prevent ice melting
  • Drop-down door allows a more custom installation with a design that removes the need to account for a hinge
  • Designed for freestanding or slide-in, under-counter installation

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice looking!!! We had a Kitchenaid Ice Maker installed when we originally built our home 27 years ago. It lasted for many years then we replaced it with a less expensive model. That one lasted for about 10 years before we needed to replace it once again. I decided to go back to the Kitchenaid brand since I was always happier with it in the first place and it did last longer. I am hoping this one will be a little easier to clean than our first one but since I have only had it a short time I have not had to experience that chore just yet. So far I am loving my ice maker and know that my grand children will love having an ice maker at Grandma's once again as well this summer. March 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second time around - great product !! Purchased a KUIS185JBL2 in 2002 when I built our house. That original ice maker lasted 13 years with periodic cleaning, descaling and a minor repair (replaced grid wire). Well it finally lost its Freon charge (sealed unit - not rechargeable)and instead of investing in the labor to disassemble the unit to replace the entire subsystem and labor to reassemble it, I purchased the latest model(KUIS18NNZB)from KitchenAid. The new model is very similar (hook-up and drain locations) and easy to install. There are some nice new features (Max Ice and better interior lighting). My Kitchen is (and will remain) all KitchenAid appliances for the best look and performance out there. June 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by My rating is not going to be good. It has been out of use this time for almost a month. No one seems to be in hurry to do anything. Last month it was out about 3 weeks. This was fixed and now they tell me it is the filter needs changing. Only one thing wrong with that--there are none! On back order for who knows. I purchased this because I had an old one and it started giving me trouble so I bought a new one. It at least gave me ice! July 6, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not so good :( We purchased this model back in August of 2014. It gets moderate use (empty bin 1 time a week). Not sure if we just got a defective product or the model is not good but since late August we have had it repaired 2 times, working on number 3 currently. The machine is only 7 months old. Thankfully it is under warranty! What happens when the warranty runs out????? Like most appliances it breaks down when we really need it and waiting for repair usually takes 2 - 3 weeks to complete. Many people dissatisfied with performance so far. April 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great so far I bought this ice maker to replace a KitchenAid that I had owned for over 12 years. Really like the features of the new icemaker. So far it has been great. March 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New and improved! We were happy with our eleven year old kitchen aid ice maker and were sad when the compressor went out, but have been delighted with the new one. We like the new cool looking light and the new filter slot. We had installed a filter on the line leading into our old one, but this is much easier to change. Looking forward to many years of good ice! December 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great! We love our new ice maker. The cubes are a nice size and there is enough ice for everyone all day. Thanks! February 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very good Wood not do with out one. Use one every day. Great April 12, 2015
