LEXAN polycarbonate sheet, 48 in. x 36 in., is a perfect glass substitute. Polycarbonate sheet maintains glass-like clarity and is highly impact resistant and strong. LEXAN is approximately 250 times stronger than glass. It can be used for a variety of household projects, including replacement windows, garage windows, and storm doors. Other applications include security and vandal protection. Its protective UV coating and its insulating property also make it a reliable glass alternative. Polycarbonate is lightweight and cuts easily with common tools (not included), making it easy to work with during installation—a plastic cutting blade for a circular saw is recommended.

  • Polycarbonate sheet is break/shatter resistant
  • Clear sheet allows light to pass through and permits easy visibility
  • Coated for protection against harmful UV rays
  • Excellent insulating properties
  • Cuts easily with common tools (not included) so you can do it yourself - recommend an approved plastic cutting blade for circular saw
  • Lightweight sheet for easy-to-handle installation

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product that's easy to use These Lexan sheets are tough, light weight and almost unbelievably clear. I put twelve of them up on a third floor porch to convert it from a screen porch into a "glassed-in" porch. The whole project only took a few hours and the end result is just about perfect. Lexan is so easy to work with! I now keep thinking of yet more projects for which Lexan is the appropriate material. September 7, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Yellowed well before 10 year warranty period I used Lexan as part of my small address sign on top of my mailbox. The Lexan has been exposed to direct sunlight about 3-4 hours a day. The Lexan began yellowing noticeably after 6 years. I would have been pretty upset if I had spent hundreds of dollars on a larger project. I did some research and found that Plexiglas (also known as Perspex, Optix, Lucite) will not yellow or discolor, even after 30 years. It's also cheaper than Lexan or other polycarbonates. If you're doing a large project (especially if replacing the clear sheets is difficult or very time-consuming), I highly recommend Plexiglas as a better alternative to Lexan. HD sells Plexiglas under the Optix brand name. June 19, 2013
