Answer:
The window units are not recommended to be installed anywhere but a window. The side vents are what prohibits these units to be used in the walls.

Answer:
There is no mention of an annual tune-up in the manual. Regular filter maintenance seems to be the extent of the 'tune-up'.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by The product is misleading.... The picture shows the unit closed in on all sides??? I received the product with it open to the elements.....A case was needed as an insert for the A/C...Note the picture....Very disappointed...I;ve always purchased wall units completely sealed on all sides..... I'll never buy anything on line I can't see in the store....You've lost a customer on appliances unless its available in your store..... Dissatisfied...... June 3, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Seems fine but too early to tell! Installed this unit when the weather was nice out but Washington, DC gets very hot and muggy in the summertime so we'll see how it performs then. Other than that, I see exactly what others mean by a loud fan. On low fan speed, the fan was very loud as it was lightly touching other parts of the AC and creating an unusually loud noise. I found by tilting the machine it handled the rubbing fan noise. Also, though, on fan speed med and hi there was no vibration/abrasion so that remedied the problem. October 18, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Stay Away!!! Pros: Works Great & Is Very Cooling. Cons: Missing Many Vital Parts, Poorly Written Instructions Including Some Inaccurate Instructions, And Required Trips Back To Home Depot For Supplies & Parts To Be Successfully Installed. Summary: It May Work Well But That's After Spending An Additional Few Hundred Bucks And Making Back And Forth Trips To Home Depot For Parts That Are To Have Been Included(sleeve, shills, many other components). The Only Plus Is That The Batteries Were Included. September 7, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT I've had this AC for nearly 2 months, and it performs worse than the 40 year old AC removed. The old one worked - not good - but it worked. This one recycles over, and over and over all day long, and it never reaches the temperature that I've got it set at. I've got an "atomic clock" with temperature control, only 8 feet directly in front of it. I'm so disappointed in this unit. If it were possible, I'd have my contractor take it out, and I'd return it to the store. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT July 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by soleved my problem I had an old thru-wall AC in my condo. After doing reseach I found HOME DEPOT offered this unit. It took a week to arrive after the on line purchase. It took less than one hour to remove the old unit and install this one. THe new LG AC works great and was a lot less expensive than the other choices. I will recommend this replacement unit to the other 30 owners of condos in my building. I will also recommend Home Depot as the place to get the unit. July 11, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by this product cools better than I expected. I replaced my 20 year old air conditioner with this one, and it fit my wall sleeve perfectly. The unit is quieter than my old one but with just as much air flow. I am pleased with the LG brand and would recommend this unit to anyone wanting a great deal on a through the wall unit. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RUN and buy earplugs We live on the California coast and really only need it at night and only during the Santa Ana winds. Well...we just had a heat spell and while it does do a great job of cooling our very large bedroom, it sounds like an 18 wheeler is in the room. VERY LOUD BUY EARPLUGS FOR SLEEP. October 17, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product. Easy Install. Received the product right on time. Delivery folks took out the old AC with no problem. New AC went in easily. Works so far, but no real heat yet. May 21, 2013
