Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jenn great washer for tight spaces
we have a closet for our washer/dryer so most of the front loaders would not fit. despite being smaller, this washer still has great capacity and most of the features i wanted - no steam though. the dryer does have a 'wrinkle' and 'crease' care setting at least. the washer is easy to use, quiet and works well - even got out some old stains that the previous washer couldn't.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Elsie Just what I needed.
I became tired of fixing my old Asko 12 004 that was 18 years old but lightly used. I needed to find a unit that would fit underneath the countertop in our small laundry room and this fit the bill. It is slightly larger than the Asko both in outer dimensions as well as in tub size/capacity. Very pleased with the energy efficiency ratings, though it does not qualify for our local power company rebate due to slightly high water consumption for its size. It's much quieter than my old machine which was a pleasant surprise. I do notice that the configuration of the gasket allows for water collection and may be a source of mold growth. I also found that occasionally small items will fall into the groove and plug the drainage hole. Plan to check regularly and keep the door open when not in use to get around this. Likewise, the soap drawer stays wet(especially in the rear fabric softener compartment). You'll have to take it out to drain pooled water if you want it to stay dry. Machine does not allow you to select variable temperatures – maximum temp on hot is stated to be 152° F. Overall very pleased. Too early to know about reliability.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by NoMoreLaundromat Small but Good
I got this because it was just about the only front loading washer I could find that was smaller than 27 inches and would fit down the stairs to my basement. I was a little concerned about the capacity but I am able to do a full load of queen sheets without a problem.
It has a lot of buttons if you want options, but they don't make it over complicated if you don't use them. I normally just press the power button, turn the dial to cotton or permanant press and then press start.
The one down side is that the door cannot be reversed. The way my laundry is set up the washer has to be on the right and so it makes it a little more difficult to move clothes between the washer and dryer when the open door is in the way. I was also dissapointed that they didn't make a matching gas dryer.

We use cloth diapers. Need I say more? Only a few days after we came home from the hospital our old washer bit the dust. After researching the limited variety of washers that would fit in our small space (condo in boston) we were frustrated that the smaller washers were more costly than even the huge heavy duty washers, thinking it wouldn't be as good. We were so wrong! This washer has the power of the huge super-hero washers in 1/2 the space! My son is almost 9 months old now and I've never even had to bleach his diapers to get the stains out. The babywear cycle is so powerful my friends are amazed by how white these diapers after they come out :)

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by peter LG customer service is the worst
Product has control panel problem after 8 months from purchasing date. Call customer service to request a technician to do an in-house service. The c.s. gave me hoops to jump through: Asking millions of questions, wanted me to trouble shoot the problem myself, very resistant on sending out a tech. After all the argument, i was given a service date. Took a personal day from work to wait for the tech to come. C.S. gave me a window from 8 to 1pm. Did not show up. Call C.S. to find out that they change the window to 1pm to 5 pm without calling me. Waited till 5pm and sure enough did not show up. Call C.S. again and was told that the tech forgot my appointment, and said it's after 5, the tech don't work after 5. From the day of requesting a repair service to the day of the service date, i made more than 10 calls to confirm appointment.I wasted the whole day at home only to learn that no one would come. The c.s. bounced me from one dept to another, and nobody want to take responsibility. Then gave me another appointment . Of course, did not show up again. I got all the names of the c.s. i spoke to. and asked to speak to the executive administrator of service dept. and told her my whole story. She referred me to an outside authorized service company and apologize. No apology can erase all the frustration and disappointment i have with LG. If I am allowed to give zero star, I would not hesitate.
Very Very POOR Customer Service!!!!!

We recently purchased the, LG WM1355HW, to replace a failing washer of similar size that was not quite five years old. Though we haven't had the LG WM1335HW for more than a month, we are so happy with its performance and build quality, that it trumps the old front loader by a wide margin.
The LG model is very easy to use, does not jump around like the other machine we had. Comes with a myriad of options for different types of fabric, or loads (bulky, gentle..), and water temperature choices for the wash/rinse cycle.
Home Depot made this purchase a no-brainer with free delivery, set-up, and free haul-away.
The one knock for features is no liquid bleach dispenser. The owners manual talks a bit about liquid bleach, but it is somewhat ambiguous about it, and even a call to, LG Customer Support, was not encouraging about where to add the bleach. So, we just don't use liquid bleach for now, and will probably just resort to powdered non-chlorine bleach. The manual states that you can use "like" types of detergent/bleach in the main compartment, but that liquid will immediately drain/fall into the washer drum. That doesn't bode well if chlorine bleach comes into to contact with clothes sitting in the drum before the wash cycle starts.
But, overall, we are very satisfied with this purchase!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pamcc Great machine
I have a small space and am limited in my choices.
5 years ago I bought a Maytag. It came with a 1yr warranty. Almost to that year the water intake sensors burned out and I had to get an in-line filter for my water line to prevent that from happening again. At five years the machine stopped spinning. You could hear the belt slipping. The machine was made so that the entire motor would have to be replaced at a cost close to that of a new machine!!! This LG has filters on the water intakes so that problem would never happen, as well as other filters the Maytag lacked. The best news is that the motor has a 10 year warranty! There are also more power saving options and other features that make me very happy with this purchase!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jeanne1307 Broken from Day 1 - 2 Repairs in 1 month
The product did not work on Day 1. It has required 2 repairs. I know it needed a new motherboard as one of the repairs. NOTE: this is supposedly not a refurbished machine. (I will do a separate reply for the dryer, but this is now broken too)
