Answer:
Tine strength is fine. I think people complain about the tines staying vertical. However this really isn't an issue once some dishes are loaded.
The folding tines allows for multiple loading options.

I was concerned about that too - but they seem really sturdy to me, and I have to really push on them to make them fold. The way i see it if you are putting that much pressure on them when loading the machine, you are being too rough!

It's really up to you however as with all dishwashers despite popular believe the Liquid and Gel Detergents will gum up over time so you are better off with the dry powders or the compressed dry powder blocks.
You can get the Powder Blocks with a Jet Dry already in it eliminating the need to fill the rinse aid hopper with rinse aid.
Most popular rinse aid out there is Jet Dry.

Yes it's recommended for this dishwasher as it doesn't have the Heater Coil to dry dishes. It really helps with the water spots. Of course this all depends on your water and how hard it is also.

There is no heating element. The dishes are wet after the cycles. I would dry anything metal after - we have had some rust if not taken out right away

It's not a heating process it's a Hybrid Fan process. And it all depends on the humidity where you live and in your home.
Usually there will be some moisture but not much which is why it's important to use a Rinse Aid.

With the dry cycle, the fan ran for about 20 minutes, it pumped water out a few times and then when it was done the dishes had no steam droplets on them, the tub walls were totally dry. A few dishes did have one or two droplets on them but nothing I would consider as soaking wet. I suspect it depends on the weather and humidity in the home. If i had to use a word or two to describe I would say slightly damp dry on silverware and cups. Dishes and long utensils were totally dry. Read Less

I am looking for a dishwasher that can fit in a 33.5 height opening. This item sorted out when I searched for 33.5 inch tall dishwashers but the specs say 25.63 inch height ... hard to believe it is that short unless it is ADA. Can you confirm correct height?

It is a 33.5 inch unit. They say 33-5/8 inches so there is some clearance for the display on the door.
It has really nice adjusters that can all be adjusted from the front of the unit making the tight installations easier.
