Can the hooks be removed in order to paint the wood?

Asked by: Anonymous
I don't know. You would, of course, be able to answer this question by looking at the item in the store, but masking them would not be difficult. They come with white-topped screws to match the original color. My doors are white, so the color wasn't an issue.

What is the measurement of the mounting hole from the edge of the wood backing board?

Asked by: LindaSonia
As mounted, right mounting hole: the center of the screw is 1 inch from the right outer edge of the board (not the beveled edge); the center of the screw is 1 and 3/4 inches from the top and bottom edges of the board. As mounted, left mounting hole: the center of the screw is 1 and 1/8 inches from the left outer edge; the center of the screw is 1 and 3/4 inches from the top and bottom edges of the board. It's possible the 1/8th inch difference between left and right is due to the angles at which I drove the screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and a nice looking unit Simple to install, hole spacing is @ 16" so you can anchor into studs for more solid anchoring. I mounted mine in a walk-in closet to allow a spot for quick hang-up of a sweatshirt or pants I will wear again soon. Belts and a robe use it too. Nice enough for an entry way coat rack.

Pre-drilled mounting holes were 16" apart, so it was easy to mount to studs. I installed mine in a closet, so the lack of caps to go over the screws was not a drawback.
