There is a raccoon who likes to dig in my trash and I assume he will like my compost too! Is it possible to lock it so a raccoon cannot get in?

This tumbler has a lock, and sets up off the ground, unless a hole were chewed in it, not even a mouse could get in.

The 50 gallon composter has a handle that needs to be turned in order for it to be opened. This is the only locking mechansim on the composter that prevents it from being opened.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Prooduct This compost tumbler appears to be well made. The instructions are well written, clear, and concise. With that being said, the assembly steps are very critical, so be sure to pay close attention! I ended up doing a little reverse assembly when I had the tumbler flipped the wrong way. Assembly took about 1 1/2 hours, and I consider myself very handy with tools. I've been using this tumbler for about 3 weeks now, and it's making compost! I doubt you would regret this purchase, and recommend you buy it if your still on the fence. You'll need several sized wrenches and sockets to make assembly go easier. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Efense On time delivery, easy installation, little bit hard to turn when it's in full load. Overall is a good deal for the price . August 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy ALL parts are very well labeled and very easy to identify for assembly . This was a joy because most outdoor items have horrid instructions and parts I.d. Note: it takes a while to assemble. With my husband and I all told it takes at least 4 hours. But once assembled it looks good, is very sturdy and turns well. Worth the mone June 2, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality materials Shipped quickly. Well packed. Clear instructions but it's a bit awkward to assemble. There is a pin that holds the drum in place that is too short for the job. We improvised with an old screwdriver. Overall I'm pleased with the function and quality. The materials are very strong. It looks fine in the yard and is easy to move if needed. April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Better than a trash can We have a medium size garden and using compost is a great way to help recycle trimmings and clippings. This will be the second year that we have used our compost and we have produced a great garden without using chemicals....This tumbler was so easy to use and putting it together was a breeze. Glad I found this at Lifetime Products. February 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Tumbling I read all of the reviews before purchasing this tumbler and my main concern was the difficulty to put together. However, I put together the entire compost tumbler (minus the drills into the metal on the legs) by myself, and I'm female, if that makes any difference. The directions were easy to follow, and everything, except drilling screws into metal was easy. As for the ease of use? Well, you just open it up, lock the lid, and then tumble a couple of times, and tada! I really like how compact this tumbler is. It doesn't look weird in our backyard, and it is at the right height to empty into a wheelbarrow (I researched that aspect on a lot of other composters before purchasing this one). This is definitely the composter I would recommend to my friends, and I have! July 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent compost tumbler I purchased this at the end of summer 2014. I filled it with leaves, grass clippings and random veggie garbage. I tumbled once or twice in fall, Within 2 months the compost was beautiful already. Now my bin is full from all my veggie garden trimmings and its the sweetest smelling compost ever. No problems with the bin itself of than its hard to turn when it is full. I recommend getting a compost starter for beginners, and toss in a few worms for quicker breakdown. September 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Would not buy again Still trying to assemble. Husband & father in law spent 4 hours and it's still not assembled. If I could figure out how to get it back in box, I would send back in a heartbeat. December 15, 2015
