Product Overview

The Lifetime 7 ft. x 4.5 ft. compact shed is ideal for a driveway or carport where there is limited space. Keep lawn tools or automotive supplies handy, safe, and secure in this highly durable, low maintenance Lifetime shed. Constructed from UV-protected, high-density, double-walled polyethylene plastic with steel reinforcements. Won't rust or dent like metal sheds. Won't fade, crack, or splinter like wooden sheds. This shed comes with a 30 in. x 10 in. shelf, two corner shelves, and a full-length skylight which provides natural interior lighting. Steeply pitched roof allows for quick drainage of rain and snow, and the shorter roof span allows a greater snow load capacity than our larger sheds. Double-wide doors allow for easy access. Slip resistant surface, oil, solvent and stain-resistant polyethylene plastic floor is included. Keep your tools organized and located right where you need them in the driveway. This Lifetime 7 ft. shed is backed by a 10 yr. warranty. Must be built on a flat level foundation of wood, asphalt or concrete (not included).

Customer Questions & Answers

Do I need to reinforce my wooden base with plywood, or is the floor of the shed strong enough to just use wooden beams?

Does anyone have a good link to help me build the base?

You need a substrate underneath for sure

Does it come with a floor installation? If not, what does one have to provide?

Asked by: Anonymous
This shed comes with a 2-piece plastic floor, but requires a flat, level (very important), stable base on which to install it. Either poured concrete slab, asphalt driveway, wooden platform (built like a deck), or as we did: patio blocks set in a sand bed like pavers.

Can you add more shelves. Are there vertical brackets to add more shelves below the one in the picture?

it's a see-through, durable plastic that does provide light in the shed though.

Like the 1st, assembly was simple & straightforward, until we got to the roof. The clips that slide into the grooves in the roof sections could be improved (as could the grooves, or the whole roof attachment design). This connection does require some flexibility, and as we were pulling and pushing to get all edges properly aligned the clips would often pop out of the tracks. Tip: secure the truss edge first (with screws) and adjust as needed from there. The instructions do not state this - live and learn. Also, some clips were more secure when installed backwards from how the instructions state - this provided more purchase of the roof section in the groove. Overall, it's a nice shed: easy to assemble (6 hours for me and my wife), looks good, doors open & close easily (Thanks for improving the door latches from earlier models), seems quite sturdy, and it should be large enough to get our yard & garden tools out of my workshop.

My OVERALL rating is 4 stars now that the shed is set up and I am happy with how it looks. Here is what was good - nicely packaged, delivered on time, easy to lay out the parts and figure out which bag of screws go with what step. Setting up the shed was a complete disaster and I am a good rule/instruction follower. The holes along the roof which connect to the truss did not line up, it took three of us to try and resolve that it just wasn't going to line up so ultimately it is missing about 7 of the 8 back screws. I made a wood platform and we did not secure it with the recommended kit, seems fine without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just the right size We couldn't be happier with this shed. It's big enough to fit all our bikes and a few other things yet small enough to not take up a lot of space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice shed Shed went together pretty easily with just 2 people. The roof was sort of a pain, but a little brute force got it sorted. Looks nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfectly Acceptable I struggled to find a good looking small-ish shed to hold all my yard equipment. Mower, trimmer, tool stand, shelves for fertilizers, etc. Everything fits just fine, if in something of a puzzle fashion. I don't have a garage--just a carport--and I didn't want this shed to be a 'feature' in my garden. No other spot to put it except the carport and while I'm not crazy about it being placed there, it was the best spot. It absolutely must be on a level surface. It took two people 6 hours to assemble as the instructions are only drawings and very long. They take patience, but the final product is very sturdy and nice looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed (Mostly Alone) in (Almost) 6 Hours I installed this shed today with minimal help from my 12 year old son. It took 6 hours not including the time required to build a level platform (add another 1 to 2 hours). Someone mentioned that not all the parts were included in his set. Apparently I got his missing parts because I had many more than required per the instructions. The only section I found that could use two people were the doors. The extra person's job (enter small person) was to hold the doors while another (adult size) adds pins, applies overhead parts and connects hardware (about 15 minutes). After the walls are up (about 2 hours), you might feel like you could do the project in 4 hours, but don't be fooled. The roof is very time-consuming. It recommends a ladder which (at 6'2") it turns out I never needed. I placed the shed at the top of our asphalt driveway (which is not one of the options listed in the manual), so I have yet to determine the best way to anchor it (in any case, anchoring hardware is not included). I'm hoping that the Big Bad Wolf won't be by anytime soon.
