This is a great beginners kayak. It comes ready for the lake with a paddle.
The 'sailor' sits on top of the kayak, rather than inside. So it has more of a feel of riding a Beach Lilo or Inflatable Water Mattress.
It is designed for still water, so it is not going to be much fun to ride where there could be wake from boats.
For playing around on a still area of water it is a lot of fun.
Molded areas on the kayak are used as foot rests, and several are provided to accommodate most sizes.
The backrest is set with an adjustable strap. I found this a little cumbersome to have to adjust the strap again to lay it flat for transportation.
The kayak has two carry handles, one at each end. I would have liked to have seen a handle or carry point in the middle. As it stands, you need two people to easily transport the kayak, a handle in the middle would have allowed me to carry the kayak on my own.
There was no user guide supplied. We were left to ponder what the symbols in some compartments were indicating.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Julie Love my new kayak!
I really enjoy this kayak. Only a couple of additions would make it 5 stars. These would be a dry hatch and a carrying handle in the back. The handle is easy to add. It's not the fastest, but I'm not looking for speed, so that's just fine with me.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bearlakers Very Stable.
I bought the 8 foot blue Lotus and one of lifetime's bright green Tamarack 10 footers (the 10 footer because I am taller and heavier). My family enjoyed both Kayaks, but were suprised at how well the 8 footer preformed. It appeared as stable as the 10 footer. As a result, I bought two more 8 footers so more of my family could enjoy them at the same time. The kids used them constantly at the lake this summer. And think of the gas I saved over running the wave runners as much. Good exercise also! My only recommendation to Lifetime would be to add a carrying handle to the back of the 8 footer like on the 10 footer.

Had difficulty ordering online, but store customer service came through in the clutch. Product delivered before targeted date allowing children the opportunity to enjoy more time using it. Good quality, children enjoyed it very much.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shuttle91 Excellent Kayak - Fishing, Exploring, Riding Waves
I bought this Kayak to add to our growing fleet of Lifetime Kayaks (this is number 3). We needed a kayak for my wife to use when we took kids to the lake. This kayak is perfect. It is very stable even when waves from boats catch you off guard. It is very light and easy to put on top of the van or even inside the van. I have had my kids paddle this kayak and it is easy to control. The kayak has ample space behind the seat to fit a small cooler or a fishing crate. We have also put a couple kids on this when paddling around the lake it felt very safe.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Old Seaman Sturdy, easy to use.
This boat is sturdy, easy to use and well balanced. It is simple to get on and off of while in the water, which makes it a decent swim platform, as well as boat. The width (which is the reason it is so well balanced) does slow it down a bit. If you want a boat to race, this is not the one. However, if you want something that is reliable, easy to paddle for hours and light enough to toss in the back of the truck, this is exactly the boat you need.

I can take 2 kids with me on this kayak! We have the best time paddling around. My 5 yr old is even learning to use this one on his own.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jakeparlay Sturdy Sit-On-Top Kayak
This kayak is slightly lighter than other sit-on-tops I've used, but by all accounts seems just as durable. It is not a fast kayak, nor is it meant for waves or moving water, but it handles well enough and is surprisingly stable.
It is quite maneuverable in tight quarters due to the design of the hull, but on windier days it probably won't track too well in open water. For casual, beginner use, I really like the sit-on-top design. It is far easier to get situated on this kayak and get going compared to a traditional design. Of course, you'll get a little wetter than you would with a traditional design, but that is all part of the fun. The included paddle was sturdier than I was expecting.
