Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but not the best electrode out there. Lincoln is the BEST electrode for SMAW (stick welding). However, this 6013 only performs at "good" level. It is NOT used for critical structural welds. 6013 is designed for sheet metal like 1/8" and thinner. The trick to welding 6013 and avoiding "worm holes" is to really angle the rod over, while dragging the tip. By leaning over the rod angle at about 50-55 degrees, it keeps the slag back out of the welding pool to make nice looking welds. For 6013 1/8" electrodes, try going slightly hotter with the thicker base metal. If you're welding 1/4" or thicker with it (because many actually do), crank up the heat to 125-135 amps on DC+. If you're welding 1/8" or less. Use DC- and a slightly faster travel speed. This rod world excellent on "AC" too. If you want a smooth finished looking weld, get this 6013. If you are welding something critical, go with 6010/6011 first, followed by 7018 as a cap pass.
