Bought two of these for the kitchen two plus years ago. One is working fine, the other just completely crapped out and it appears it's the ballast not the bulb. I was able to switch bulbs with the other working fixture and it's not working and there's power going into the ballast. Plus the bulb from the broken light has burn marks on it. Manufacturer warranty is only a year so i guess we're out a light. Will be buying from a different company this time. Very disappointed in this purchase, should have lasted longer.

This light is very easy to install and looks great. When attaching the bulb, hook it around two of the clips, then using your thumb, bend the third clip far enough to allow you to clip the bulb into place.
It would be great if they had a shorter set of screws for attaching the fixture to the junction box in the ceiling (you may need to trim the screws by 50% or more if your ceiling box is shallow).

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by theoryofadeadsquirrel Bought and installed two. Both work fine after 2 years.
I bought and installed two of these lights myself a little over two years ago. They've been left on for hours on end and are still running the original bulb and ballast. The only down side I can see is it may become harder to buy replacement bulbs in the future but, I purchased two spares to keep in the house just in case. Other than that I think these are great fixtures.

Overall a fine looking product and performs excellantly. Only problem I had with installation was that I believe the ground wire should be longer than it is for easier installation.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by rdhworks Failed way too early
Worked great for a year, then one of the two we installed in our son's room went out. I assumed it was the bulb, so I special ordered two of them from a different website (Home Depot doesn't carry replacement bulbs!) Turns out wasn't the bulb. It was the ballast. Now the other light just failed and we will have to purchase two new lights for that room. I agree with another poster - what a waste of Earth's resources!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by mike failed after about 1 month
We bought this light for our remodeled kitchen, the old fixture was gold and glass and we wanted an updated look. We had trouble finding one in this simple style in the store that held three standard bulbs so we settled on this one that uses a single special bulb. It looked great and threw a lot of light for about 1 month but then failed. The fixture is getting power so it is either the ballast or the bulb. It just does not light up but gets very hot when turned on. new bulbs are about $20.00 not ok after only 1 month and it might be the ballast. Keep searching for one that uses standard bulbs, we wish we did.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dizzy Poor electrical quality. Not reliable.
Appearance is good. But electric components are not reliable. The ballast cracked with a sound and smoke when powered on first time. Replaced with a new whole exchanged unit and it last only a week and it exchanged with new one again. Then it worked but had turning on problem. It needed a few times to power on and off to make it work. After 2.5 years it was dead. The T8 bulb came with is VIVA TC55W 2700K CRI 82 G10q. And it is difficult to obtain. Many internet vender like Amazon states it is not available, or discontinued. The replacement of T8 bulb and ballast will costs much more than a new light sold at Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by CMATLGA Another Bad Ballast
Not thinking I had to research a $35 light fixture, my contractor bought 2 of these for our closet. After only 8 months, one of them stopped working. In order to find the stock number to call the manufacturer, I had to look it up online and saw that the average score was 1 out of 5 stars and all of them were about the ballast. I contacted the manufacturer and was told I would have 2 new ballasts sent. 2 weeks and 2 more follow up emails from me later, I returned them back to the store for store credit. This item needs to be discontinued based on the fact it does not work for most customers longer than a year without changing out the ballast. The best part? Home Depot RAISED the retail $5!
