Answer:
Hello Michele,
The cameras run on a 12V DC power adapter, and can be plugged into an electrical outlet to run. They do not have battery power.
Thanks, Lorex

Answer:
Hello Michele;
The cameras do not run on battery power they must be plug into a 120v ac powered outlet. The reason these are wireless and can be installed almost anywhere is because they send the images by radio signal to the reciever. The batteries are for the remote control.

Answer:
Hello Bob,
Yes, you can add up to 4 more cameras to this system (the DVR has 8 video channels available). We do not suggest using more than 4 wireless cameras together in the same area, so you could add 4 more hard wired cameras to the system.
Thanks, Lorex

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value and Easy set up Bought the 4 camera wireless Lorex system. Set up was really straight forward. Range for wireless is decent - furthest camera is about 150ft away with no issues. The software is really easy because it uses the cloud rather than IP forwarding which can be a big hassle. Because it uses the cloud, you can download the lorex app and view live shots right from your phone. Picture quality is very good in the daytime, but pretty grainy at night. These cameras are static so they don't move or zoom. Wide viewing area though and you can adjust contrast, birghtness etc. Recording program is very easy. Watching playback takes a while as max fast forward rate is only 8X. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the software sometimes can't connect to the camera due to failed log ins. Simply closing and restarting the software solves this both on the phone app and the desktop. Overall the best product I've seen for the pricing and the cloud software is a big benefit. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lorex Blackbox 2 Wireless security system Good system, easy to set up. Love the access with iPad and iPhone. Manageable with either Windows or Mac. Virtual keypad on screen with mouse and remote is tough to use. Camera pictures are pretty clear considering it's wireless. IR works fine. Have check it for out doors use yet. Beware that system interferes with bandwidth on your WiFi...it will slow down your wireless access to computers. I found a solution....install a Belkin surge strip with a remote on/off. I turn off just the camera's receiver when using the computers. Just remember to turn it back on, otherwise, you will not get a signal to the DVR. Lastly, cameras have short power cords. Unless the camera is positioned directly under the wall socket, it will be difficult to stretch adapter cable...purchase 4 extensions from eBay....works great...no lost of signals. November 19, 2013
