Yes. It also has an alert, for when the batteries are dying but if you don't catch it in time, you are given a set of keys also.

Customer Reviews

0.3-0.7 cu. ft. All Steel Adjustable Wall Safe with Electronic Lock, Cream is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Get What You Pay For The locking mechanism did not work. Customer service had me take the cover off to find a broken solder joint coming from the battery pack. Fortunately I had the tools and skills to repair, don't know what would have happened if that weren't the case. Powder coating is chipping. Barely fits into wall with four inch studs. Adjustable feature a real pain to work with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect in wall safe that is expandable. Met my expectations! Easy to install and program. Must purchase batteries seperately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed easily - looks great - works great This is the 2nd wall safe I've installed. If your comfortable using tools and cutting a hole in the wall then this is a piece of cake to install. The expandability feature is ok. In most walls your only going to get a few inches of depth. I didn't use the set screws - just popped the safe in the wall and drove the anchors into the studs. Removing the door makes installation much easier. As far as Safes go - this is more about keeping your stuff out of the hands of kids not from professional burglers - unless you have a good place to hide it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Product I read many posts regarding the difficulty in assembly prior to purchase. The assembly is very easy if you are familiar with a screw driver and box wrench. The recessed door and premium gauge steel offer prevention against a frontal assault. The paint job wasn't the best so if you are an aesthetic freak, this may not be your cup of tea. I made a few modifications for I use this as a pistol safe only to keep the weapon out of the reach of children. I disconnected the piezo that alarms when the keypad buttons are pushed (allows privacy when opening). I then installed a high-pitch piezo with micro-switch, backup battery pack and override switch that I could activate at will. This would allow me to alarm the door so that when opened by anyone other than myself, a loud siren would report (all of this was picked up at a well known, nationwide, electronic store). Another aftermarket upgrade was that I went to a hobby store and picked up adhesive felt and lined the inside of the safe. This made removing and placing articles inside the safe much quieter as anything metal was noisy when removing or inserting. The con to this and any safe of this size is that it's portable. Any home burglar could find an array of tools in a garage to cut this wall safe out from the studs that it's attached to and walk off with it. The upside is that the door and frame are made of a heavy gauge steel which correlates to a very heavy article to carry. It has also been mentioned in previous reviews that the amount of internal space is limited due to the housing that the locking mechanism is encased in. This is true, so beware that if you are using a standard 2 x 4 stud wall, the central shelf compartment will almost be obsolete for anything of considerable size. The bottom line is to purchase what fits your needs. I'm certain that you will not find anything comparable to price with what you will find with this Mesa wall safe. Great product for the price. If you are looking to store and protect priceless heirlooms, purchase a 1200lb+, fire rated floor safe and securely bolt it to the floor. Either that or a safe deposit box like the rest of the modern world. Good luck!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fair, not very usefull Hardware was too small. Hardware interfered with the door and had to be removed, then replaced with screws. The locking mechanism took up nearly 1/4 of the interior. Too much space between the incerts leaving room for small items to fall through or get caught.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Design and Assembly Problems The safe tries to offer the flexibility of different depth setting via use of bolts and washers (which were too small for the slots) to fix positions of sliding side panels. Following their instructions PRECISELY, screws intruded in space for door to swing freely--- which only became apparent once unit was in the wall, since instructions had you remove door to do prior steps!!! Had to remove safe or struggle to saw off bolts to make the door swing possible. Seems like some sort of sliding rivet, pre-assembled, could have made this way less of a hassle--- BUT it is in the wall, doing its job, so hopefully this will be an FYI to both the company AND future customers--- can't readily back up or return the safe once the hole is cut in the wall!! {;~')

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Complicated assembly, small capacity The adjustable depth adds complexity to the assembly. I had to modify placement of fasteners to get the door to work because, if assembled according to the instructions, the internal fasteners interfere with operation of the door. Also, the quality of the fasteners is poor. I was unable to remove the door because the set screw securing the lower hinge pin stripped. I was able to install without removing the door, but it was much more awkward. I would have had to drill out the set screw and redrill and retap to get the set screw out. The lag screws to secure to the 2x4's were too short to grab into the stud opposite the hinge side, once the hinge side was secured. I had to buy longer lag screws. One of the included lag screws broke midshaft. Once in place, in a 2x4 stud wall, there is not enough room for most handguns. The lock mechanism takes up most of the main compartment, and the shelves are not removable. There is only room on the top and bottom compartments for a very compact semi-auto out of any holster. There might be enough room if you installed this in a 2x6 stud wall. I'll have to make a box to velcro to the back wall to put jewelry in this safe without it all falling out when it is opened. Would be a better product if it were sized specifically for either 2x4 or 2x6 stud wall install, rather than adjustable. Lots of gaps and holes for things to fall through and get lost forever in the wall below the safe. I filled these with foam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from More of a very strong security box than a safe Not sure how much I would trust in it during an extended absence, since a thief with some construction knowledge and a reciprocating saw could easily cut it from the wall studs. Serves my intended purpose, though. Fast shipping, which is typical of HD. Relatively easy to install in a newly framed interior 2x6 wall. Didn't have to remove the door and installed dry wall around the opening, similar to a window. Adjustable jamb is a nice feature, since the locking mechanism intrudes upon some interior space, yielding more usable depth. Similar to a few other reviews, screw heads don't catch enough of the mounting slots, but washers have cured that problem. In all, I'd highly recommend this product, but don't expect it to have the same security as a safe bolted to a concrete floor.
