Broke down after 6 months, top parts stays cold and bottom part doesn't cool. Got it fixed under warranty for free (the main board was replaced with an upgraded design). 5 Months later it is doing the same. What a waste of money. HD please stop carrying an MC appliance, they lost my business (and everyone I know) forever.

Bought two of these for my basement in December of 2014 and one works great. The other we put a 12 pack of pop in the bottom zone and accidentally blocked the fan on the back wall. I noticed the temperature rise so i investigated. By blocking the fan we cut off the air flow and the fan iced over. I unplugged the fridge to let it defrost and after we did that it worked for a couple of weeks. Now the fan has stopped working, to be honest i was surprised that it worked at all after the ice build up. looking for a replacement fan as I think that if the fan is replaced the lower zone will work again as the top zone still maintains temperature. So over all very satisfied and it was our lack of knowledge on how the fridge works which caused it to break down.

I've had this refrigerator for about a month and after 3 weeks the lower zone isn't working correctly. I have it set for 40 and it fluctuates between 45-50. Home Depot Customer Service said I could bring it back for an exchange or refund but it's quite heavy to load up and return so I was trying to just see if I could get it fixed before loading it up and taking it back. I called my local appliance repair and they told me that Magic Chef beverage refrigerators are 'known' for this issue, a manufacturing issue with the seal or something and recommended that I return it. One last effort, I called the number associated with the warranty and emailed a copy of my receipt so I'm waiting for them to call me to schedule an appointment. I looked for sometime before buying this one so while the top zone (I use for red wine) is fine, the bottom is too unpredictable for cold beverages so it is disappointing. I'm hoping to hear back soon from Customer Service and hoping that they can fix it with a service call.

This beverage cooler didnt even last 10 months! Stopped cooling on both levels. Magic Chef sent out a repair person only to find out the unit cant be fixed due to an internal leak. Magic chef will be refunding me the cost of the unit. Very disappointed.

We are on our 3rd fridge! Not only will it not maintain temperature in the bottom half it also causes breakers to trip attempting to cool it. The fact that the fan is located directly in the middle of the fridge and you can't put items in front of it at all screams CHEAP! Looks nice but that's about it!

Here we go. I had the same issue. The unit ran fine the first month then the temperature rose. In a former life I use to repair refrigerators so I quickly realized I was having a freezing of the coil issue. I noticed that the unit does not self defrost, so I experimented with buying an "appliance timer". I set the timer to turn off the unit for 1 1/2 hours each night as we slept. The goal was to give the coil time to defrost. Well.......it worked. I have not had an issue for the last 7 months. The unit is working great. My unit has maintained 38 degrees for the sodas and 45 degrees for the wine. The only issue is that when the unit shuts off the blue led light turns off and does not come back on. Other than that it is working great.
I am happy that I was able to make this unit work, however, I am looking for another unit for a second home, but I will be looking for one that self defrosts.
