No hard case is provided. I see this as a plus as I typically ditch the bulky hard cases.

11 Amp 4 in. x 24 in. Corded Belt Sander is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from solid beast! heavy duty workhorse that i use for cedar deck resurfacing. good ergo for both handles and trigger lock for extended sanding. my only gripes: (1) dust port clogs A LOT, forcing work stop to unclog, or live with dust spilling out on work surface, (2) the dust bag sits way to high, making it impossible to sand under low obstacles (see Porter Cable for better bag design, (3) the flange to which the dust bag attaches is cheap plastic and will break when sander bag bumps into an obstruction. please address issue (3) such that issue (4) becomes irrelevant. as this is most expensive unit in its class, I would give 5 stars if bag was redesigned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Makita 11-Amp Belt Sander Great sander. Easy to put in a new belt. Awesome that I can attach a vacuum hose to it and suck all the dust into my shopvac. Have to use tape to attach it, but that's no big deal to me. Long cord is really convenient. Only one complaint - the lock button for the trigger. It does not stick out as most tools with a lock button. It is concave. Its position makes it hard for me to push it in using one hand. Even harder if you are using gloves. Start to feel how heavy it is after a while. But I bought it for the high amperage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sanding Beast Very impressed with this sander. It has plenty of power to really remove some material with an aggressive grit belt on it. Tool is a little heavy but it actually works to your benefit when sanding flat. My wife has been using it to resend our yellow pine floors and hasn't had an issues at all. The bag is easily emptied and reattached (we empty at half full). I used a section of rubber hose and a fernco to attach a small shop vac to the dust port and that works very well. The belts are simple to change by lifting the lever and sliding the old and new right on. Only had to show her how once. Tracking is very simple by turning the knob slightly until centered. There is minimal dust left on the floor as around 90% goes through the chute into the vac. Highly recommended for the advanced or novice wood worker.

I use to own an older, make that fixer-upper home, and I used the belt sander on quite a few projects. The belt sander has taken a lot of use, and abuse and keeps coming back for more. It is not the lightest belt sander out there, but it is well built. The belt size is easy to find, just about every hardware store carries that size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Sander for Quality, Power & Performance I'd like to start by saying I've never written a product review before. However, I just wanted to let others know what my experience has been so far. Upon opening the box, I switched out the sandpaper for the grit that I wanted to start with. what a simple procedure that was, No worries about setting anything up, or dealing with tracking of the sandpaper or anything like it.. Was simple plug in and go to work. This sander is so Powerful and quiet, its an absolute joy to use, especially since sanding isn't such a joy to begin with. I'm a contractor and hobby woodworker, so this sander will see a lot of use. I didn't bother looking at any other sander, as this one fit the bill.. Yes, It's a little expensive. but you need to realize that this will most likely be a one time purchase, as it will probably out last YOU yourself. Cry once buy the best, never-mind the rest. The 9403 comes with a very long cord think 8' or 10' long which is perfect. be smart when using it, throw the cord over your shoulder in order to keep it out of your way. I purchased this to help me with the build of my new workbench top. This sander will come in very handy if you don't have the large expensive Planer's & Jointers. It'll allow you to purchase rough sawn lumber and be able to help you mill it down some. this sander just screams Quality!!! I'm very happy i purchased it. The only flaw I can find, is that it doesnt come with a coupler / fitting in order to hook up to the dust collection hoses. I'm using a Furnco 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" I recently found out that Makita does sell a Vacuum hose for this. Part # 192108-A I have enough hoses and it was a little disappointing that NONE of them worked plug & play. Be sure to pick up some Rubber Belt dressing sticks "Pro Stick" it'll clean your sandpaer and allow you more life to it, depending on what your sanding.
