Answer:
Mine came with two batteries, the charger and case. These I believe are also sold as bare tools, meaning no battery, case or charger. Read the description carefully and judge by that.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value! I use work's 14.4 Makita impact while at work, but couldn't justify the cost to purchase for home. While remodeling my bathroom, I got online and read the reviews for the 12v. Made a trip to HD and picked up this little beast. Very impressed that it will drive 4" screws through wood. The 12v batteries don't last as long as the 14.4 does, but you can't go wrong with this purchase. Here's a couple pictures of the Makita 12v in action. It's driving 4" screws in blocking, for grab bars in the bathtub area. Something my drill driver wouldn't do, and about twist your arm off trying. Very nice tool. October 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best ergonomics for this style of impact driver I don't know if there is a specific name for this style of impact driver, but there are three of this type that are very popular: this Makita, the Bosch ps41, and the Milwaukee Fuel. The Makita is very powerful (800lbs torque) but it is actually the weakest of the three. Also, it has the least features of the three (Milwaukee has a battery indicator and the Bosch has a battery indicator and a superior lighting system). Ultimately I decided on the Makita for 1 reason: excellent ergonomics. The Makita feels the best in your hand out of the three and is the most enjoyable to use. The Bosch has a handle that seems to have been modeled after an empty toilet paper roll, and also it has no "finger-ledge" below the trigger, so the trigger rubs on your finger every time you use it and it can even pinch your skin; also the trigger doesn't stick out far enough and so it feels somewhat awkward to squeeze. As for the Milwaukee Fuel, I didn't like the shape of the unit or the feel of the rubber. Also, on both the Bosch and the Fuel, the handles are short to the extent that you have to grab the handle AND the battery when you use it...the Makita handle is long enough that you don't grab the battery. Anyway, all three of these are excellent choices if you want a very compact impact-driver, but for ergonomics/enjoyability the Makita is the best IMO. October 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great light weight impact driver I only bought this because they were being clearanced for $30.00, at Home Depot. I have the older stick Makita impact screwdriver and the brushless 18v. Makita impact as well. In tight spaces where I need more power than the stick and less bulk than the 18v. this is great. As time goes on I only use the other two when I need less or more power than this tool offers. If you have larger hands the grip is fantastic, it fills your hand and provides great control. For most household repairs this is all you will need. I have greater and lesser demands so I have all three. I could survive with this one alone, if push came to shove, but glad I have the other two. Great little tool. April 22, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fits as well as it works ! This impact driver is what I needed for several reasons. The power to weight ratio is superb, just research it. The build quality is out of this world and you can even hear it in the Makita built motor when it is in action. If you need a great amount of power from a respected company with an expanded lineup of tools to compliment you first purchase, this will probably make you very well compensated for your money spent. Finally, if you need these things above and have arthritis or carpal tunnel issues, it's a no brainer. I am very happy indeed. March 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very useful I was on a job site and needed a small cordless to run screws in and out (6-32 x 1.25" which only needed to be 1/2" long). I bought, tried and returned a Yellow & Black model and got this little monster. I have many of the Makita 18V Lion tools and am a big fan of those. I did not expect that this tiny driver with a measly 12V battery would be as useful as it is. Now that I'm back home, I find myself reaching for this rather than its big brother any time I go up the ladder or need to crawl around to get to whatever needs fixing. The charge does not last for as many screws as the 18V, but it sure makes up for it in portability and convenience. I'm now looking to add the drill version to my stable of tools. The only thing I would add is an on-board bit holder. The holster has a spot for storing 2, but I don't often use the holster. June 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My favorite tool I purchased the combo with the 12v drill and if I could do it over I would've just purchased this. I use it so much more than the drill. It's so light, powerful and the battery lasts forever. It's a plus that it recharges in less than an hour. I originally liked dewalt products more but since they didn't make anything this light I went with the makita and don't regret it one bit. Thank you Mikita for making such a wonderful product May 2, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Purchase I have only used the drill a few times but am very pleased with its performance. The variable speed keeps me from stripping out screws. The light is a plus in shadowy places and the torque is powerful. Holster is helpful in carrying to keep hands free. Great little tool. August 26, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great This replaces the old driver I have been using for ever. The impact feature makes the old drivers obsolete. No sudden twisting of the tool as with the old drivers. April 15, 2014
