I am looking at purchasing this for our A/C utility room, but it will be next to another bi-fold louvered door with 3 in slats. Would like for them to match. What is the width of the actual slat? Thanks!

Thanks for the info on the slats! I think you misunderstood my point about its proximity. I am aware it is not a bifold; same area not the same door frame.

Answer:
The slats in this door are 1 1/4 in. wide x 7/32 in. thick. I note in your question that you state "it will be next to another bi-fold louvered door". Please note that this door is not a bi-fold, it is a prehung door.

Composite doors are a mixture of various wood products and liquid polymers, including PVC, and coloring agents which are mixed and pressed or molded into doors. The polymers and coloring agents do not rot or rust and the wood products are completely sealed by the polymers. That means that these doors do not rot. Paint is another story. If it is not the proper paint - weather resistant, exterior paint - and/or the surface is not properly prepared, there is a very good chance that you will experience paint peel, which could explain what happened to one of your doors. This will happen even on composite doors. Rather than replacing the offending door, I would thoroughly scrape, sand and clean it and then paint it with a proper exterior primer and paint. In order to insure that the two doors match, you should also refinish the good door. However, since this door still has a good finish all it would require would be a light sanding to roughen the surface and a good cleaning. All you would need for this door would be a finish coat - no primer coat. Read Less

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A little more expensive as I would like but their quality. once seen, made them worth it. Were package for protection. Good quality and worth the wait. July 31, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Regarding Louvers wrong review I found this review very helpful and when i brought it up to the home depot rep to do the special order he said that was because it was ordered incorrectly or built incorrectly because as part of the special order process you specify which way you want the slats to face in relation to the hinge side. We went through the process together and the pictures gave you the option to make sure the slats were going the correct direction for your specific application. Make sure you think this out and go over and double even triple check with the person doing the special order and I am sure you will be happy with your purchase. March 12, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Plantation Door The product was not designed in accordance to my request. It was returned because the louvers were inset to move air upward this was not acceptable. The door opened from left to right not right to left as was requested. This was a special order and the 5 weeks wait made this even more of a inconvenience for me. January 2, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best quality. Not the best quality for the price paid. Door slab itself is decent construction but door frame is flimsy and held together with cheap staples. Door frame has very little clearance between frame and door slab which allows almost no reveal around the door for opening and closing of the door with out rubbing. I managed to pull the door frame slightly apart at the top to allow room for a reveal. I did buy it while it was on sale and had I not received the sale price I probably would have felt ripped off. At this point I'm just disappointed in the quality of the product as a whole. My advice is to buy your doors from a local door supplier. All the doors I bought from them were great quality. I guess I should have bought the louvered doors from them as well. That's what I get for trying to save $50. Apparently the saying is true, "You get what you pay for." January 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good solid door Very easy to install and it looks very good. Just a bit pricey. October 14, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty but cheap doors These are very pretty but not of the solid construction I expected based on price. They are quite light and damage easily in the shipping transport. I don't mean the slat portion of the door, I mean the solid portions that surround the slats. The slats are not too big as mentioned in previous review. They are exactly appropriate. These aren't shutters, they are doors, so the slats should be wider. I'm not recommending because I think they are significantly over priced. July 31, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Louvers wrong The quality of the door is fine, however, the way the door is pre-hung has the louvers facing the wrong way. So if you're using this door for a closet, the side of the louvers that should be facing out, faces into the closet. June 25, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pre-Hung Plantation Louver Door This door was exactly what I was looking for, its priced right and looks great. I purchased it for my mechanical room in the basement. It came pre-hung which was a breeze to install. The door compliments my other doors throughout the house. I would highly recommend this product. February 19, 2011
