Purchased a Maytag Fridge from Home Depot and it was delivered 2 weeks later on July 2nd. Came back from 4th of July travels and noticed the air vent that pulls air from the freezer to the fridge was frosting and icing up. After watching for a few days while we were at home we also noticed the fridge door seal was not making a seal at all you could see into fridge when the freezer door was open. Called Home Depot they immediately said it is not their problem and to call Maytag. Maytag set a repair apt. for a week later, the day of the apt. the repairman called and said he didn't service that area. I called Maytag again another 30 min on hold set another apt. same thing happened. This went on for 4 weeks and 4 different appointments, before they finally had a repairman come from 4 hours away(I am sure the repair call cost more than the fridge). I told him I thought that it wasn't smart to keep a fridge that had been freezing up and not working properly for over a month by this point. The repairman said he didn't THINK it would matter. So, I GET STUCK WITH THIS PIECE OF JUNK AND THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO EXCEPT TELL EVERYONE AND EVERY SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLET I CAN FIND BECAUSE THIS ISN'T RIGHT. Our clients at our business have followed the story from the beginning and are so outraged themselves they have also said they would not buy Maytag. That gives me some comfort but not much. Don't buy Maytag they will never replace a damaged appliance no matter what you say or do. I have never experienced anything like this before, if you buy something that cost that much you should be able to replace it if it doesn't work properly but Maytag refused and Home Depot said it wasn't their problem.

Ice maker worked for one week. To get service took 2 weeks. To get replacement parts took 2 weeks plus one wasted day waiting for a service call only to find out parts didn't arrive. 3 days off from work to wait for repair and parts is a very expensive fridge!
I would not recommend this to a friend.
I uploaded a picture of the non-working ice maker. It is 106 degrees here today!

Ice maker is slow to respond and is erratic from one time to the next (sometimes it takes longer to respond than a previous attempt)

I can agree with most other reviews here. On the down side, It's a little bit noisy when running and the interior lights, although more energy efficient, are slightly dimmer than my old unit. The icemaker makes more noise also, but that's probably because it's on the door instead of the interior. Being on the door it holds less ice and it doesn't make ice as quickly as my old unit, but has more room for freezer storage. This Maytag has a lot of room inside the fridge and holds even temps throughout. I purchased an additional door bin from Whirlpool service that costs over $50 plus shipping. That's a lot for a cheap plastic bin, but there are no other options if you want one. Overall I believe it was a good purchase for us. After looking at several other Refrigerators, I bought this Maytag unit mainly because of it's 10 warranty on the compressor. My Old GE Fridge's compressor died after just 9 years and the repair quote was $650. Hopefully this one will last longer. It makes me long for the old days when a refrigerator would last 20 years or more.

One negative to focus on is the water dispenser. It is very loud while it is running. The ice maker is loud when it drops ice, which does not bother me. The refrigerator itself is not all that loud, but I do hear it in the adjacent room. It's ok, it's average, it works. Also, there are too many fancy buttons above the water dispenser. This is more a comment for every side-by-side refrigerator that we looked at. It dispenses water and ice, what else really needs to be on there? The lights in the refrigerator take some getting used to. They are very dim. At night, this makes a big difference, with kitchen lights on it's a non-issue.
There is ample room for a large family to store plenty in the refrigerator and the freezer.
