Our new Maytag Jet Clean Plus dishwasher is amazing. Our electric bill was much less the very first month we had it. That's not just money saved over time, it's making a difference in our available cash, right now. Another surprise was how quiet it is. They said it would be quieter than our existing one, but I never thought a dishwasher could run THAT quietly. We used to have to wait to run our old one because the noise would interrupt whatever we were doing. Now, we don't hear it at all! I mean nothing! We got it for a great price, too. I honestly wish we had invested in it years ago. It would have made our lives better.

This was a great dishwasher until is stopped working less then 6 months into use. We got it after having a baby so that we could use the steam sanitize setting to get the bottles squeaky clean, which it did. However, there is a design flaw that I feel made our dishwasher expire prior to many of the other people who have written positive reviews. I believe that because we used the steam-sanitize setting on every load, poor design may have caused the steam to seep into the electronics. This is how: the dishwasher assembly is very solid, but there are two star-headed screws on the top inside of the door that reach all the way into the touch display/control assembly. These two screws are exposed to the heat and steam of the washer, which is very hot. Over our short amount of time, the steam was able to bypass the seal around the screw heads and cause the electronics to short. My touch panel is now a variety of lights and flashes that do not represent any of the selections that I have attempted to make, and I can only get the washer to run on one mode after pressing start, only I don't know what mode that is. I took out the screws and there was evidence of corrosion 1/4 inch down from the screw heads. After looking inside the electronic compartment behind the touch panel, I could see the electronic ribbon the had corroded and shorted. There was evidence of burning and damage.
This is a beautiful high-end machine. People will save and budget for a machine like this one to go with a new home or kitchen remodel. This dishwasher will be more work than it is worth. As a hard-working person who does his best to save time and money, I have to tell you to avoid this product at all costs. Even though it has not failed and there are many good reviews, it's only a matter of time and you deserve for your dollar to go further. The manufacturers warranty only covers the first year, then the electronics are out.

I have had this dishwasher for almost one month now. Some reviews states you can't get much in this dishwasher. I disagree. Just look at the pictures people have posted. You can't put a huge pot in the middle of the dishwasher and expect to get much else in there! If you really know how to stack a dishwasher you can get a lot in here. If you have small plates you can stack more things on top of the plates like big bowls or pots and it gets everything clean. That's how I stack a dishwasher. As far as the other reviews where people have to dry the dishes manually after the cycle, this is corrected by using a rinse aid like jet dry. I had a problem where there was water on the side walls and door of the dishwasher, but the moment I started using the rinse aid, it was corrected. This dishwasher does not have an adjustable top rack but it does have one side on the top that angles downward where you can put taller glasses. This works well for me. Installation of the dishwasher is easy. I am not sure why people state it is difficult. And we have never installed one before. I myself also think it is definitely worth buying the 5 year extended warranted. I have always used them on all the appliances I have ever bought in my 20 years of home ownership. One more thing about the dishwasher is the steam cycle is in the end of the cycle instead of the beginning. Therefore, it does not bake on the food before it washes them. This means cleaner dishes!

We've had this dishwasher for less than 2 years and have already completely replaced it once, replaced the control circuit board once and now must replace the console and controller due to the short-circuiting of the inferior, thin, poorly insulated ribbon cable. Photos of this type of corrosion can be easily seen on the internet for a variety of Maytag dishwashers. Wish I had searched, as I would never have bought this lemon.
The stainless steel cabinet and motor are all super. The electronics are unusually poorly made and destined to fail during normal, light usage.
Repair guy said that Maytag is now owned by Whirlpool, which explains a lot. What a (costly) shame. There is a class action against Maytag in California... unfortunately it isn't a national one, so those of us stuck with these lemons either have to keep paying for repairs, or junk an otherwise new machine.

We bot the Jetclean with front controls and just love it. its quiet and very efficient. We also got a great price from Home Depot when we purchased it. Home Depot was the least expensive vendor and did a fine job on the delivery. We would buy at Home Depot anytime we need an appliance such as a dishwasher, refrigerator, stove Etc.

I was bedazzled with the stainless steel tub and the price. It is really quiet I like that. I opened it up at the store, I liked the looks inside. But after getting it home and after about 5 hours of installing it (directions didnt make sense) I went to use it and it is way to small on the inside, I can only put in about 1/2 of what my old dishwasher had. The silverware caddy is one big long thing so you have to have the whole thing in at all times. I liked having a sanitizer, but the sanitizer can not be used on quick wash like I could on the last dishwasher. If I had to do it all over again I would not have bought this dishwasher, very disappointed.

I loved this dishwasher when I first got it! Worked great and was super quiet. However, the control panel failed after 3 months of using it. I have been on the phone for 3 weeks now trying to get it fixed. The repair people they set me up with were awful and told me it would be 7-10 days/up to a month before the part would be in. I called the reps at Maytag and got the part shipped to my house in 4 days. Well, now no one can install the part and I have been sitting with a broken dishwasher. It looks like it won't be fixed until sometime next week - so I will be without it for a month. Buy at your own risk!

This stopped working less than two years after our purchase. Maytag will not stand behind this product. Here is a copy of the transcript:
ME: Hello. In fall of 2013, I purchased the dishwasher listed above. I was surprised when, despite Maytag's previous reputation for quality, the dishwasher often failed to turn on. We take excellent care of our appliances and try to buy the best available, so we were terribly disappointed. Searching the internet provided information that this was a VERY common problem and that we should unplug and then restart. We did this many times. Now, less than two years after our purchase, the dishwasher has stopped working entirely. The Maytag one year warranty has expired.
I took to social to ask friends who they recommended for local appliance repair and had two friends comment that they had the exact same problem with their recently purchased Maytag appliances. This type of honest and truthful social media discussion is very helpful for those remodeling, building and buying.
Am I left with no options, except to pay for repairs of a nearly new dishwasher? If so, unfortunately, I will never buy another Maytag product and will have to recommend the same online/via social media. Or, can you repair this for free or replace the dishwasher at no charge to restore my faith in your product? If so, I would be very happy and my faith in your products would be restored.

There is a one year manufactures warranty from the date of purchase to cover parts and labor for any manufacture defects in materials or workmanship . Once the manufacture warranty has expired, it is the customers responsibility to either purchase an extended warranty as protection for the appliance, or to pay for any needed repairs for the appliance.

This is an extended service plan that will cover today’s needed repair plus an additional year for any other unexpected repairs that may be needed.Our feedback from consumers has been that the program is less than the cost of the full repair.
