Does this washer have delayed start?

Yes it does.

Why is it leaking from the left corner after 10 months of use?

it started leaking after 10 months of use from the left corner just where the door connects. What can be the problem. Is it still under the warranty if I call someone to fix it?
Asked by: Anonymous
I don't have an answer, but I am having the same problem. It started leaking several months after installation and the leak is in the exact same location as you describe (left corner, under the door). The strange thing is, it doesn't always leak. At first I thought it was related to the cycle selected, but that doesn't seem to affect it. I usually use the "Light" cycle and it leaks about 65% of the time. Sometimes it is just a small leak (maybe 2oz?), other times it is several cups worth. I can't determine a pattern in terms of what is causing the leak (e.g., door not shut properly, washer loaded to full, etc.). Were you able to fix your machine?

Hi, what is the water temp during the steam cycle?

Asked by: Anonymous
Bob, The Steam Sanitize cycle does the following. It raises the water temperature in the final rinse to approximately 154°F (68°C). This high temperature rinse sanitizes your dishes and glassware in accordance with NSF/ANSI Standard 184 for Residential Dishwashers. Certified residential dishwashers are not intended for licensed food establishments. The Sanitize option adds heat and time to the cycle. This information was taken from the Use and Care Manual which is available to view on the product page by clicking on the More Info tab. Thank you for viewing this Maytag dishwasher.

JetClean Plus Top Control Dishwasher in Stainless Steel with Steam Cleaning-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 269.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke Down after 5 years. The drying mechanisms stopped working and there is a consistent white film (despite our use of all cycles at various points and jet dry) on most of dishes. The repair man said the motherboard was dysfunctional... so we replaced it... and the problem consists. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK We have owned this model of dishwasher for just over a year and now it will not drain properly, something is wrong with the motor. Who knows how much it will cost to fix and for a new motor, we will probably end up having to buy a new dishwasher now. So glad we are out all of the money we wasted on this and now we will most likely have to spend quite a bit on a new one. I am very disappointed and upset with this product. I should also mention, this is our 2nd dishwasher of this model. When the first one was delivered to our home there was a crack in the tub, it was manufactured that way so they had to give us a new one. I really question the quality of this brand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Leaks Since installation, the right side of the door has leaked (yes, it's level). Two repair visits later, and it still leaks. We're currently waiting on parts and yet another repair visit. So, weeks after installation, and we're still washing dishes by hand, paid $$ for something we can't use, and have to 'be available' whenever the repair person may show up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from $$$+ mistake! I bought this dishwasher to replace my older, cheaper Maytag that lasted 6yrs. My problem is that I can not fit the same amount of dishes into it. The layout of the racks is awkward, unless you only use tiny plates. So I end up doing two loads instead of one. It doesn't fit anything big, bowls, pots, pans, cutting board, ect. so those have to be hand washed. Food particles get stuck and dried onto everything, even though I rinse first. The first few times I used it I had to rewash almost everything in it. The door is hard to latch, the buttons are hard to push and it was harder to install than the last one, and on top of that it's not worth the extra to get stainless if you want REAL stainless, because it's not. Oh and now I can't even use it because the door latch broke :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst dishwasher EVER! I had a whirlpool for 17 years and replaced it with this dishwasher. The electronic panel stopped working in it after about 14 months. Of course, the warranty was no longer valid. Paid 275.00 to have it fixed (which only included a 30 day warranty). 3 months later it broke again! Maytag customer service was horrible!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice, Quiet, Some concern with advertised features NOTE: I had intended this as a review, but inadvertently posted it as a comment to another review of this product. If you are seeing this a second time, that is why. This is a nice dishwasher - very, very quiet, which is a real plus in our tiny 1000 square foot ranch-style home. We only installed it a week ago, so I cannot comment on all the features, but I hope the following comments help anyone considering this model: 1. Very, very quiet. We live in 1000 square foot ranch with an open concept living room/kitchen/dining area. This model is so quiet that we could run it while entertaining in the living room if we wanted to and not have a problem with conversation (probably wouldn't, but we could)! 2. Top controls: A bit difficult to read when the dishwasher is closed, but we are able to see the position of the lights and have been able to "guesstimate" the cycle status based on that. Not a big deal. 3. Adjustable top rack: Maytag could improve on this feature (or at least on it's marketing). One of the primary reasons we purchased this particular model was the advertised adjustable top rack. The User Guide that came as part of the packaging showed easy to use Rack Adjusters for lifting and lowering the top rack. We could not locate these on our dishwasher. After talking with a customer service rep, it appears that our model, while it does in fact have an adjustable top-rack, does not work that way. We were disappointed to learn that we have to remove two small hard-plastic tabs from the rack tracks, remove the rack and place it in the desired track and then replace the plastic tabs (so that the rack doesn't fall out). I have not been able to remove the plastic tabs myself - my husband has had to remove them each time. I can only imagine how difficult this would be for someone with arthritis or joint weakness. Another concern is that the tabs will break - or drop and wind up under a cabinet or the refrigerator. If that were to happen, we would not be able to use the top rack until we found or replaced the tabs since the top rack will most definitely fall out. We encourage Maytag to consider installing the Rack Adjusters on all units that advertise the adjustable top rack. If this is not an option, then we encourage Maytag to revise the advertising to reflect the difference between models. Drying: The inside of the unit does remain quite wet even after the heated cycle, but Maytag does recommend a rinse aid to facilitate better drying, so we will try that and see if it helps. We would rather not have to purchase and use yet another product since it impacts our budget, but this is more of an inconvenience - not a complaint. Other features: This unit does offer many cycle options, and while we have not yet tried them all, we are confident that the actual dish-washing features will reflect Maytag's history of high quality performance.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor quality handle The only problem we had with this dishwasher was the handle. It did not fit flush with the dishwasher and looked like shoddy workmanship. We had three companies come try to fix/tighten handle and all said, "That's just the way it is." Tried having the door replaced, and that handle was actually worse and wiggly. It felt like it would break off at any moment, and we ended up exchanging the appliance. Home Depot was very accommodating.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does a poor job "Purchased this model in white last spring (not available anymore) and it leaves the dishes dirty. Dishes on the top rack along the center are left with a dirty grit. They need to be rewashed after they come out of the dishwasher. Since the dishes come out dirty I can't use the heatdry feature as this bakes the dirty grit on the dishes. I had service techs come to my home 5 times with no results. I was told it was the soap dispenser. A new one was installed. Nope! I was told it was the detergent I used in the gel packs. I changed detergents. Nope! I was told I use too much detergent and JetDry. I used less. Nope! The last tech that came was the most honest...he said he had no idea. I did appreciate his honesty. Maytag support was not very nice. They said that their was nothing much more they could do, with a bit of attitude.
