It's not good for flake salting. Rock salt much better. The flow control is cheaply made. I'm afraid to tighten or the plastic will crack.I'd say this one is worth $200 or less not worth over $300. Better off using a seed spreader better control n mobility and priced just right to fit any budget.

Product arrived undamaged and all the parts except the filter screen were in the box. It took about 3 hours to assemble at a leisurely pace, and the assembly instructions are good. It worked great upon first usage, but upon the second usage the flimsy cable that opens the flow gate kinked within the lever housing and the gate won't open. Also, the agitator is a bit higher than the bottom of the hopper and salt can clump below it and you get no salt flow. Product description also states a filter screen is included but there was none in the box. The only impressive thing about this product is the large motor and the mounts which are strong. Otherwise it is cheap plastic and not worth $700. I'd say the same thing if it costs $400. I would not purchase this again if I knew what I know now.

Lets just say I can not wait for it to start snowing! I will be using strait salt on my 400' driveway. The sander went together very easily. The direction were very easy to follow even with identifying the correct bolts. The hardest part was mounting it to my 4-wheeler. I have a polaris sportsman 800 with composite racks. I had to use the provided extensions and after moving around the brackets a little to find the nearest hole I was able to bolt it down. Meyer I feel has made a very high quality product, one that has been needed for atvs. I've looked at others, but was not impressed.

Switch and cables didn't last 1 month. Spread pattern adjustment didn't work for 5 foot sidewalks. Returning it today.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Hitch not a good purchase
The spreader was cheaply made and definitely not worth the money I paid for it. The cover was a cheap plastic that didn't fit the top and the mount on the ATV terrible and would scratch the paint job. If you want a good spreader for an ATV get the Meyer 250 tailgate spreader, it mounts with a hitch and works perfectly with an ATV, nicely made and worth the money works great!

This unit required uni-strut to mount to my polaris 800 2-up . I did not like drilling holes in my my machine. Also the flow control is cheap and takes some getting use to.Every thing else is made very well
