Customer Reviews

Oak Toffee 3/4 in. Thick x 2-1/4 in. Width x Random Length Solid Hardwood Flooring-DISCONTINUED is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from price per ft and delivered to the door deal for the D Y I my application is over a concrete slab , have used tarkett and Bruce E Q as well as bamboo ( too soft ) in similar applications . have applied both in a glue down and in a nail down application . prep of sub floor was 15 mil tar paper over concrete slab and 5/8 plywood on top of that (leveled and screwed down) get it level first . glue down was a pain compared to nail down , both look the same when finished and wore in the same ( 15 years now ) . current application is a nail down with same slab prep , but will apply a glue at exterior thresholds to insure bonding in high traffic areas . make sure you store wood on site a couple of weeks to acclimate to its new home . have a router bit configure to rework any piece edge that is imperfect ( don't force it ) plane off any thing that fights the fit . save your odd pieces for closets , under cabinets and out of the way areas . open a few boxes and sort for unique patterns for best effect in high visibility areas . either pattern wood sizes to create randomness or have a on looking critique choices of random lay to help you . have not stripped and refinished product yet , but feel it will perform as spec. read up a little on the web before lay or get a experienced helper . use good saws and take your time and you will have what you want . remember its 3/4 thick you will have to adjust for it everywhere . leave expansion areas all around and compensate with base board. assume you will have lots of door frames to rework so maybe just do them new, that way your cuts will dress nicer. if its your first time , study up, look online for videos , when you go to purchase look for online coupons you can use to save $$ . do not slam to wall ( wood expands ) do not slam to old baseboard and think to cap with new baseboard . do not lay over tile . do not force pieces and think the nails will hold it . do not use hammers to tap in place .. use rubber mallets and scrap wood for this . do not start without a game plan for thresholds and and doors ( get that area ready before you get to it ) keep wet areas in mind and if used in kitchen area make sure you don't have any water problems . old dishwashers release steam toward floor so get a new one if wood is near it . make any other alterations to home first that might affect wood lay or cause damage to it later ( leaking windows faucets , or heavy construction in another room . for those that are laying over raised floor joists , make sure you have no failing or bouncing areas in floor . again read up on this , watch some videos , by a D I Y book etc . have a plan for the end as well as beginning and buy or borrow good tools . ( bad cuts wont fade with time , nor will the gaps settle in on their own ) .. you have the inter-net's wealth of knowledge, use it . i wish i would had it before my first experience . good luck

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Consistency of Stain Color Issue. Recommend With Warning. I purchased three boxes of this to match an adjacent room to existing hardwood. The first three boxes matched great, you would never no difference in wood unless told of it. The last box I bought to do an adjacent hallway was much darker than the previous three boxes, and unfortunately it was installed before I caught it. I give the product high marks in quality and value, but consistency of surface finish not so good for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time installation I am new to hardwood installation. It took me 2 days from start to finish to rip out the carper and cover an approximately 170 sqft room. The room looks beautiful. This was the first time I was doing a hardwood project. I must say, it was highly enjoyable and the outcome exceedingly rewarding.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but be aware. The floor looks great and I love the color. Many of the boards were warped and created gaps, which only multiply as the installation continues. Expect a higher degree of waste for this region. Be patient while installing and this can be a great floor. If it's not straight - don't use it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! I was hesitant to buy hard wood floors because there are so many to choose from. I took my time and decided solid wood is much better in the long run. Better resale value and looks great against my existing hardwood floors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Purchased only 3 cartons of this flooring to match existing hardwoods, and it looks great! The only caution would be shipping--the boxes were all torn up when they were received. Fortunately the flooring was not damaged.
