Answer:
Yes, If you mean brass pipe or bolts. The blades are made of harden steel and will cut soft metal or mild steel. Be sure of what is in your pipes before you cut. Make sure that all gases/liquids are purged and pressures are released to atmosphere before cutting.

Answer:
This should work good on cutting a lock. Depending on the style of the lock and the material it's made of, you may need to experiment with the saw blades to get the right one.

Answer:
A hack saw should cut through most standard locks. However, you might consider using (borrowing) a large bolt cutter, which would be faster and less work.

Yes, but a lock cutter will be much faster. Much much faster. You can rent them from a local tool rental shop.

I used this to cut metal wiremold for a project moving electrical in my garage from the ceiling to the wall for lift master 8500 jack lifts. I used the saw for 12 total cuts and also used the saw 3 times to cut the top off a coconut. Blade is still sharp and did not bend. Wiremold was cut evenly and with no sharp edges. Milwaukee is the best and it was hard to find this in Homedepot since it was the last one so I guess I am not the only one who knows it is worth paying a little more for the best. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Recommended improvement I use this mini hack saw almost daily. As a plumber,I use it mostly for cutting pvc tubular drain pipes. (traps, extensions, tail pieces, etc) I like the mechanics of the saw, however I would like to see one with about 1/2" more depth in the center area. As it is, it will not cut thru a 1-1/2" pipe with out turning the pipe. It works ok, but I'd like to see one deeper. Thanks.

This saw was almost useless to me and the blade bent before I was finished. I would not recommend it unless you are desperate. Also, the blades do not seem to be available at Home Depot.
