Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by maintenancemark a must have for small jobs.
I am a maintenance technician at a large apartment complex so I use this tool quite often. Since I am the only person on the crew with one it gets borrowed by the other 3 guys quite often. I have to make sure they know to let me know when they borrow it since they know where I keep it and just tend to grab it when they need it. It's great for cutting things like rusted toilet tank bolts, drywall, pipes and small lumber. My full sized reciprocating saw was to big to keep in my golf cart so I always had to go to the shop and get it this stays in the cart with me so I haven't used my full sized reciprocating saw since I bought this one last year.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Geronimo This is a great saw to have .
I have been looking at This Milwaukee Cordless hackzall for a few months now, when ever I went into Home Depot & I finally bought one. This is a great saw for cutting pipes, boards, Tree limbs etc. It is small enough to fit in areas that a Sawzall wouldn't & a lot easier to handle. This tool is a favorite of mine using it to saw anything it is easy to carry with with & the battiery lasts a long time. If you're even thinking about buying this hackzall, it will help you to finish jobs a lot faster then if you wear to use a regular saw, you will love having this saw it will be great to add this with the rest of your tool's.

Purchased to cut small limbs and saplings, very light and have a free hand to grab limbs. Bought the 9" DIABLO BLADES ( looks like a bow saw blade) I found that using a sawing motion while running this saw makes it cut faster also purchased the 4.0 xc battery to give the saw xtra life works great. Need more power buy a chain saw but this saw is no joke. Perfect for what I'm doing and the other tools that can use this same batteries is worth checking out. I almost purchased a big, heavy and two handed reciprocating but thought about what I was going to use this for and went with the smaller lighter one. HD beat amazon on price for saw and batteries.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ContractPlumber Excellent For Portable Cordless Reciprocating Saw...
I've been a Plumbing Contractor for over 20 years and I can confidently recommend this Milwaukee product to anyone that has a light duty project. It's perfect for cutting plastic DWV (drain, waste, & vent) pipe, water closet bolts (toilet bolts), copper that's not full of water, and other cutting applications that don't require more power and a longer cutting stroke. This is NOT a 120 volt, 11+ amp reciprocating saw, so don't expect it to handle or be the proper saw for demo work, trimming hedges, pruning trees, etc. Period! If you're going to trim hedges, purchase a hedge trimmer and if you're going to prune trees, purchase a chain saw or pole trimmer.. I fail to understand all of the negative reviews this tool is getting by various reviewers. For those of you that complain about the tool seizing up or completely dying when you get water into it, I'll say this: "Read your Operators Manual. It clearly warns the operator not to allow water into the tool." This warning can be found under the Maintenance Section on page 6. I tend to agree that the battery included in this kit isn't the best one for this tool, but you can always purchase the 3.0 or 4.0 XC 12-volt battery or purchase the 18-volt version of this saw. The bottom line is: this is an affordable, durable, well-made tool that's lightweight and easy to use and handle and should provide years of dependable service if it's used as intended and properly maintained by whoever owns it.

If you've ever used a full sized reciprocating saw, and thought it had plenty of power but it was big and clunky, this tool is for you. One handed operation is a huge plus over a regular recip saw. This tool is well balanced and comfortable to use one handed, even for extended periods.
In terms of power, watch your technique. Being lighter weight, this tool is more likely to bind than a full size recip saw, with the saw moving instead of the blade. Once I got used to it, it delivered the performance I expected. It's not as fast as a full size recip saw, but doesn't quit either.
Batteries don't last long during heavy use. I picked up two of the XC 3 AH battery packs, and one of those was wiped out by about 25 minutes of brush cutting. The included standard size battery would have been toast in under 15 minutes. You can use the batteries faster than you can charge them with this tool. That's not true of my drill and impact driver. I like the XC batteries with this tool, I think they balance better than the standard batteries. I don't notice the extra weight of the larger battery like I do with the XC batteries on my drill and impact driver.
Also, I don't like the included bag. The bag doesn't hold blades or batteries in an organized way, the two obvious things you would put in this bag.
I'm happy with this product, and think many folks will be too, if they're willing to invest in spare batteries.

I purchased this saw, almost 3 years ago, as a gift for my son. The first time I used it I was disappointed. The problem was, that I was trying to use it as a sawzall, (1/2" plywood roofing) I seriously considered taking it back to the store. As our project (complete rebuild of my son's house)progressed, the value of this tool became more and more apparent. From dry wall...to plumbing...to light framing...this is a handy tool to have. As long as you realize that it is not a 15 amp Super Sawzall, you will love it!!!

This saw worked fine for removing an old shower(fiberglas) and it is the right size in confined spaces and the power was always there to make the cut. No problems. Good product!
